The animated C.O.P.S. series is coming to DVD completely in two volumes next year from Mill Creek. It had two previous volumes under Shout! Factory with a third of the series left to be released, but Shout! decided to sell off the rights. The episodes that would have been on Shout's third volume will be on Mill Creek's second volume. It sounds like each volume by Mill Creek will be only $10.
Site News DVD news: US Townhall.com Interview with Mill Creek VP Jeff Hayne | TVShowsOnDVD.com I was a big fan of this show growing up and had the two releases from Shout. I'd rather Shout finish releasing it, but at least it will see a complete release. |

Millcreek did the 2002 MOTU release, and I'm happy with it. So, it should be ok.

Are they going to do any kind of remastering? The original version I have looks pretty piss-poor. Whoever had those video masters did almost a bad a job at storing them as the BBC.

Talk about obscure. MAN! I remember that cartoon, but I remember it and the toys were CRAPOLA! Seriously guys, where do you draw the line? I was a huge MOTU fan when I was a KID, but I think the toys and show is just wierd now. Same with MASK, Transformers, Thundercats, etc. I mean really, I can barely watch GI Joe now. Maybe Im just old (going on 34).

Oh, Im plenty nostalgic, its why I have the time and money I do wrapped up in Joes, comic books, PEZ, etc. But lets face it, those cartoons are for kids, which we are not anymore. Like I said, maybe its just me, but I think a lot of the toy collecting is wierd. He-Man being one of them. I had/have a few dozen guys. When I look at them now I think they are ridiculous. And the premise behind it!? I actually dont mind ThunderCats, but I cant say as I watch it. And Ill catch GI Joe some nights on the Hub, but again, its not what it used to be. And my wife says I need to grow up, so Im no old curmudgeon either (I play with a 3 year old all day). I mean reall, C.O.P.S. on DVD?!?

People could say the exact same thing about G.I. Joe, comic books, and PEZ. To each their own. I enjoy 80s cartoons and have a big DVD collection of them. I enjoy them more than most current cartoons. I always thought it was cool that Larry Hama did the filecards for C.O.P.S. and that one of the good guys was the son of Beach Head.
