I just saw this today and I actually liked it more than I thought I would.
Anyone else see this movie yet? |

I saw it on Saturday. I honestly thought it was the best movie of the summer, based solely on my enjoyment of it. It's a shame it's not doing anything at the box office, but I see it becoming a future cult movie. Gonna try to go see it again tomorrow.

I loved it!
It was strange watching it having already read all of the 6 GN's it is based on. I was actually really happy with the changes they made, they did a really good job of compressing everything to fit within 1 movie without it feeling rushed. The fight scenes were just flat out perfect. I found myself smiling like a goofball during each one of them, just soaking it up and having fun!

I'm sure that watching it again on Blu Ray I might enjoy it more but after just reading all 6 books for the first time this past week it seemed to be a very disappointing adaptation. |

I definitely agree about the ending being a little faster paced than it needed to be, I missed all of the extra characterization of Envy a lot and REALLY missed the "training" with Kim and Nega Scott out in the wilderness.
Like you said, there was no way they were getting more than one movie out of this so they had to fit it into one. I thought Wright did an excellent job with what he had to work with.

SPvsTW is the best movie i've seen in a long time. I saw it once before it's release then in the theatre again a week later. Can't wait to buy it on dvd.
I think the reason it isn't doing well is it's marketed to those under 30 yet all the references are for those of the over 30 crowd. |

I've only heard good things about it. If I got the time I will try to see it at the theater. Although I do think Micheal Cera is way overexposed. I guess the gravy train doesn't last forever, so milk it will you can.
