... what did everyone think?
I enjoyed it. Having watched them in bunches because I DVR it, I thought that the crack in the universe subplot was handled nicely. Smith has grown on me, and while he has a way to go before I think of him on par with previous versions, I think he is off to a good start. |

What channel is it on? It used to be on CBC ( I get the windsor Canada station here) and SciFi
The companion Amy Pond looks hot although she will have to be really cool to overtake Martha as hottest/coolest companion

All in all?
Too much time-travel abuse. I think Moffet tried o show that he could out-epic Davies and it didn't totally work. He did end up out-Deus Ex Machina'ing him. >_>; Rory, on the other hand, might be the single most awesome male companion the series has ever had, if not in the top five of all time. I think if Moffet should stick to small, more self-contained arcs he'll bring a lot more of what made the old series great back to the show. Every damn season doesn't have to have the whole bloody universe in peril. After a while it's like, "What, again?" |

Amy Pond is incredibly cute and the accent really suckers me in. Plus she (IMHO of course) isn't annoying. |

Matt Smith and Karen Gillian have made the season.
Matt is already a great Doctor. The storys this season just haven't grabbed me. I love the old school Who throwback style to some of it but overall I expected more. Not terrible, not great either, but worth the watch. |

Overall though, I thought given the success of Tennant, and the potential for a disappointing / down year, that this was a very good season. |

I think Smith is a strong Doctor. The season finale dovetailed nicely back into the season premier, and I actually felt that characters grew and developed.
My likes: Smith himself! I didn't think anybody could follow Tennant, but Smith did well. The season premier was great, and then there were a few uneven episodes (really, "The Beast Below" could have been ANY Doctor) but in "Victory of the Daleks" "Vampires of Venice" and the Weeping Angels episodes, Smith really came into his own. Amy Pond and Rory. They play off each other well. Obviously any companion will play off the Doctor well, but to have a married couple traveling with the Doctor will be something nifty for next season. The resolution. We see the Doctor figuring stuff out, a wedding reception, and the Doctor enjoying himself. We also get the acknowledgment that not everything was wrapped into a neat, tidy package: we still don't know what lured the Tardis to Amy, or what the silence is. Luckily, we have another season. What I thought sucked: The Silurians. This two-parter could have been compressed to one hour. I don't think I need to say much more. The best episodes of the season: "Victory of the Daleks." The Doctor successfully fights off Daleks armed with nothing but his wits and a donut. Then British Spitfires attack a Dalek ship. Also, there was a robot named Bracewell, who I hope we see again. "The Eleventh Hour." What a great introduction to the new Doctor! The bit where we see the previous doctors was particularly great. "The Pandorica Opens." Many of the Doctor's enemies assemble to trap him, and escape seems impossible! What a great cliffhanger. |

Yes, even better than Ace shooting a Dalek in the face with an RPG. Quote:
Smith's succession of Tennet reminds me a lot of Davison's taking over for Tom Baker. |
