Ok I remember seeing the comercials and thinking"wow that looks good". I love a good cop drama,Don Cheadle is one of my favorite actors and its directed by the same guy who did Training day, which I liked a lot. I thought at worst it would be the NY version of Training day which wouldnt have bothered me. Well I never got around to seeing it in the theater. Recently it was released on DVD so I decide to order it "on demand".
I dont think Ive ever been more disappointed in a movie,it was horrible in my opinion, horrible plot, horrible directing, horrible writing(dialogue)even worst acting all kinds of plot holes and one of the worst endings Ive ever seen in a movie. Have anyone else seen this and do you feel it is as bad as I do? |

Haven't seen it yet. Wanted to. I love the director, Antoine Fuqua (Training Day, King Arthur, Tears of the Sun, Replacement Killers, Bait). Thats a shame it's not that good.

what's my point? he doesn't really know "what's up." you can only fake it for so long. 'Training Day' is based on the actual life of my good friend Paul Lozada. you can google him all you want. he's a martial arts master/bad @ss cop from San Francisco - also known as Officer 187 (his actual badge #) coincidentally, 'Nash Bridges' is also a take on Paul's life patrolling the streets of SF. Paul actually trained Denzel during the movie, and Don Johnson. Paul has a credit on Training Day - google all you want. what's my point? Antoine's best work was not even an original story. The guy can barely write his name. 'Brooklyn's Finest' bombed because Antoine Fuqua is overrated. |

my friend told me that Antoine is an act. he claims to be "from the streets," but he's actually not and grew up fortunate. he said it was all an act to be the "edgy, black Director," setting him apart from the rest.

Bait, Tears of the Sun, Replacement Killers are all great movies.
Being "from the street" has no influence on those. Personally, I never knew a thing about Fuqua's background, it has no bearing on how a movie is.

Kevin Smith needs to stay away from movies, far away. Clerks was good, but it's time to pack it up. |
