That's right. I've been pretty obsessed with these films lately. Granted, I haven't watched the third one in a while, but I love the first two. I find strong individual characters that aren't hindered by the emotional pratfalls so many of us have to face to be very inspiring. To me, he's a very zen kind of guy who happens to also be one of the guys, and doesn't allow disruptions such as jealousy, anger or greed to hinder his enjoyment of living a fulfilling life. Anyone else feel this way about this character, or other similar characters?

Aussies hate the movie because it has as much to do with real Australia as Mars. The characters are all awesome and fun though.

Man, there have been some people getting the DVDs from the $5 movie section at work...though it makes me think of that "Simpsons" episode when they go to Australia.
Aussie: That's not a knife...THIS is a knife! Bart: That's not a knife, that's a SPOON! Aussie: So, I see you've played 'knifey-spooney' before...

Ugh.
Remember Yahoo Serious? "Reckless Kelly" was a pretty great movie.

What about Jacko, the Australian Energizer pitchman of the '80's? He was also in the virtually forgotten but great tv show "The Highwayman." That was a great show.

Sigh, Mick Dundee set Australia's place in the world back a few years
Still remember how disappointed my Oklahoma and Canadian relatives were when they finally came to visit and found Australia and especially the Outback did not live up to their expectations. Ah well, it generated interest in Oz at least. |
