What no one is reporting and is even more impressive? Kirk's dad is playing Patrick Swayze's old role in Red Dawn.
Hemsworth set for 'Thor' and 'Dawn'

I'm just glad Hartnett isn't playing Loki.

Iron Man 2 in 2010. Thor and Captain America in 2011. Avengers in 2012. Kind of a shame they got Hemsworth for Thor, he looks like he would've been a good Captain America, particularly if you factor in his brief but memorable turn as George Kirk. As for Marvel "not having spare cash?" Yes...yes they do. What do you think they're spending the money from Incredible Hulk and Iron Man on? Last edited by Jmacq1; 05-19-2009 at 11:48 AM.. |

Hard to see him as Thor, unless he puts on about 70 lbs of muscle. He is more usable for character built like Daredevil.

Better someone that can actually act than someone that looks the part perfectly. Yeah, they could've cast some random pro wrestler or bodybuilder to play Thor. The problem is that most of them can't really act for squat. |

I've never seen him in anything before Star Trek, but he was horrible in it. Definitely the worst acting in the whole movie. I don't know if I can take 2 hrs of that, although I'm not sure I can take more than 30 minutes of a Thor movie. This may be a match made in hell.

Triple H was up for the role, and while he has the look he does not have the acting ability.
