Yeah, that Turtles Forever was not only a fun geeky gimmick, but I genuinely enjoyed it even though I'm not all that familiar with the modern cartoon.
I liked the old cartoon back when it was big, but I had read the comic first so it was pretty goofy to me. The modern seems like a nice balance of the toon and comics and Turtles Forever was such a fun mashup/tribute to all of them. |

It's sad that the 25th ANN of TMNT kind of just went by with nothing big, just annoucement of Nickelodeon getting the rights to them.
Yeesh. All this TMNT talk makes me wish I still had my classic TMNT figures from when I was a kid. |

And...I just know way too much about TMNT. LOL
Anyway, along with the modern TMNT toon, I highly recommend the TMNT animated movie that came out not too long ago where the modern TMNT team up with the 80s TMNT. Granted, they exaggerate (sp?) the 80s Turtles antics, it's still a good nostalgia watch. |

Still have a majority of mine! Including the originals. Sadly, I also got rid of some stuff when I was "becoming too old for toys." One of the biggest mistakes I've made.

I still have the 4 original...but the accesories are another story. I have Casey Jones and the broken bat, plus his golf bag..but thats it.
I'm veeeeeeeeery slowly getting the stuff back through ebay. I'm waiting for something in the mail. Leonardo as Capt. Kirk...I have no idea what or when that is from, but 2 of my favorite characters..it looked damn cool and less then 10.00 it was an easy buy. So with the comics--I remember the stuff WAY back in the Archie Comics, then there was another comic a fellow Tanker gave me the link for..and it was a bit...sorta like the old school cartoon. Is it me or was there a TMNT comic that was a bit more crude and a tad bit more serious?...Maybe even in black and white? Am I imagining that?? |

Of course, I recall how Michaelangelo's nunchukus ALWAYS broke thanks to that silly thin piece of plastic used to hold them together unlike the more modern toys where they actually created chains for the chuks to stay together. I had two of him because of that annoyance. |

It started out following the toon story line, then drastically veered off into it's own thing. There were a lot of original characters and more dramatic character development for the turtles. Donny get's corrupted by the turn stone. Raph has a dog/human GF named Ninjara, that leaves him cuz she has a different calling. Great read.

I think that is what happened to all of my classic Turtles toys. I tried to 'grow up' and must have discarded them all.

Thats what I mean! ^^^ why the hell isnt there a bigger following for the stuff?
I dont really care for the movies.. But in cartoon or comic form you have endless possibilities. A new comic that captures the cartoon era turtles with a mature edge here and there would be awesome. 1 shots on Casey Jones..or even Shredder would be sick. I know it doesnt have the fanbase that G.I. Joe has...but seriously so many people knew about the Joe 25th...there is'nt crap in comparison with the TMNT ann. |
