having recently watched the pilot and seasons 1 and 2 of the 80's buck rogers tv show, 2 things stand out:
1. the pilot and season 1 are great, chock full of super fine 80's ladies, goofy story lines, neat guest stars, etc. then season 2 just sucks. they completely changed the setup, supporting characters, all for the worse. they had such a good thing going, could've gone on for at least 2 or 3 seasons.. 2. based on his actions (or lack of action) in season 1, buck's sexuality has to be called into question. he has more fine women throwing themselves at him than any heterosexual man could possibly stand without hooking up at least a couple times. somehow he always finds an excuse to not do the deed. now, there is absolutely wrong with being gay. buck still kicks ass, judo chopping his way through outer space, taking down any wierdo or alien that gets in his way. he might be the most ass kickin' gay man ever on network tv. or perhaps he was asexual, like morrisey claims to be. or a eunuch. it's gotta be one of the three. |

LMAO.. I remember the one episode where they find the very very underage girl who was all but jumping on top of him.. they had to help her learn to talk or something. LOL
And he still managed to say no till they found her mate that grew out of a pod as well or something.

Dude - it sucked when they left Earth, but Buck's chickenhead sidekick had a hot girlfriend. I mean, for a chickenhead girlfriend.

I loved this show and think it is infinitely more enjoyable than Star Trek.

Disco in Space
Only Ice Pirates and the Flash Gordon movie can compare to this space opera.

the music in the show was great, especially the episode about the rock band guest starring jerry orbach of law and order fame. the 'futuristic' dancing was hilarious, it always involved ropes and props for some reason. when buck breaks it down for the space dj in the pilot movie might be my favorite scene from the whole series.
