Venom got the the ax too freaking fast. And the choice of the actor truly sucked.
I agree Kraven the Hunter would make it interesting.

I think Malkovich as the Vulture is a brilliant idea.
I wonder if Dr. Connors will finally become the Lizard. I mean, he's been hanging out for 3 movies with no go. My personal choices for Spidey villains would be The Shocker & Tarantula (and his "pointy chews"). Just because I remember those villains distinctly from my childhood. Awwwwwwright. Kamakura_Hawaii |

Cool. But I'd rather have Electro, Carnage or Mysterio.

Malkovich is a sweet actor and can portray an awesome villian. I personally would have liked a Black cat and Kingpin story line.

Marketable Spidey Villains yet to be used (IMO, anyway):
1- Electro 2- Kaine 3- Hobgoblin 4- Morlum 5- Kraven the Hunter There are options out there. The Vulture's pretty good, though. I'd love to see the epicly failed Clone Saga on the big screen. I think it would be much better as a movie than it was as a comic. That and I'm a Scarlett Spider mark. 2- No way in heck they're going to introduce the infamous Clone Saga into the movies. Especially given how many other elements you'd have to set up across multiple films to get it to work. 3- Strong Possibility. In fact I suspect the only reason they don't go with him is because they've already done the Goblin thing twice. I'd be really surprised if he didn't pop up in future efforts (though we may get a reboot before it happens). 4- No way. Too modern, and too utterly unrecognizable to anyone but current readers. See also - Lacking pathos. 5- Really depends on the interpretation. Sadly, an abridged/adapted version of Kraven's Last Hunt could be very good (and I think very possible to do), but I suspect would be too "dark" for Sony's liking. |

I agree with the first statement but not the 2nd. I'm a Topher Grace fan and thought it was awesome that he was playing the role. Granted, they could have used somebody bigger but it worked for me.

I didn't have an issue with the casting, because it really made sense in a "twisted version of Peter Parker" sort of way.

and that why movies are suckin these days...as they're nothing more than giant commercials to sell CRAP....as opposed to just being something DAMNED entertaining (liek district 9...no toys etc an the film was damn entertaining)...this marketing crap is getting outta hand and PERMIATING everything to the point that if they cant make toys comics, baby wipes, tampons etc with the logo and likenesses of the stuff in the film they wont make the film....horrible and its killing the movies (along with hollywood fearing offense to anyone).
People have been decrying the "death of movies" for years now, but the truth is that there's always been plenty of swill (and even more "average") that gets put on screen year after year. It's not like in 1976 every movie that came out was totally awesome, either. Hollywood is pretty much just like it's always been. Sometimes they hit a grand slam home run, sometimes they hit a solid double or triple, and sometimes they strike out. We just tend to not remember the average/boring/bad movies of the past because in a lot of cases we didn't go see them (especially those that came out when we were too young to take ourselves to the movies). |
