OK, just got back from a midnight screenig of this movie. Wanted to see what everyone thought of it!
Myself, I thought it was good, but it could have been great. Not gonna spoil anything, but some characters start out with such promise, only to be wrecked in the end (Guess who I am talking about). I thought Taylor Kitcsh did a good job as Gambit, but they need to teach him a consistant accent. Couple of really nifty cameos as well. Of course, Hugh Jackman was great as Logan, I think you can tell that he really enjoys this character. The movie, while certainly not Iron Man or TDK, was much better than the debacle that was X3. All in all, I gave it about a 6.5 or 7 out of 10. Side note: People in the theater were screaming and cheering for the TF movie trialer. MY theater is promoting the heck out of it, but not so much as a mention of ROC.

Saw the bootleg and thought it was pretty good, though said character that was "wrecked" sort of left a sour taste come the end.
Being the incomplete bootleg, I find that I can't honestly rate it until I see it though, I would give it a solid 8 at this point. I was entertained, which is what I expect and demand from a movie... I'll be back once I've viewed it in it's entirety with complete effects and sound.

Did Deadpool wind up looking like baraka in the end, arm blades and all?
I was pleasantly surprised by how Gambit and Deadpool were portrayed initially but I am unsure of how they tuned out later on. I've heard they wanted to make a Deadpool movie as a seperate entity somewhere in the future....I'm unsure of this, however. |

Well, I don't know much about the character of deadpool, but I know from my friends I was with that it was not cannon. Though very little is when the translate a comic/t.v. cartoon to film. Writers and producers just say to themselves, "Let's just toss out the real mythos and f with it so it's unrecognizable to it's fan base". Luckily I knew this going in. I'll say it entertained me, and probably leave it at that. . . . Well, Star Trek next week then?

This is true, but COMPLETELY changing a charater to meet a story blows... The story needs to be written to meet the character. I totally understand making changes, be they cosmetic or other, but to destroy the sould of a character is wrong.

I thought it was really good. I can deal with changes to characters I never really cared about in the first place, so Deadpool doesn't bother me. I liked a lot of the nods here and there and was happy to see them starting with an Origins scene (Even if I don't remember that particular scene from the comic)
Side Note: For those of you who saw the bootleg, stay till after the credits. The changed the bonus scene. |

Saw the bootleg, will wait for the DVD to see the changed bonus scene.
Shogi, the origin scene of the claw pops, that is pretty much almost panel for panel from the Wolverine: Origins story by Paul Jenkins. The comic never expressly comes out and says that the caretaker Tom Logan is Wolvie's father but.... The comic also never says if the caretaker's son is Sabretooth. The movie made that leap. I LOVE the opening credits of Logan and Victor going thru the different wars. Great way to show the ages of the characters and what their lives are like. Absolutely love it. One of the best opening credits/scenes have seen. Works awesomely. There's stuff about the movie I didn't like, but alot about it that I did. Like the end and how it ties together with X-Men.

I haven't read the comic since it came out so, admittedly, my memory is a little fuzzy on that I also love that opening montage |

I haven't been to my local theater in a awhile. The one I go to is out of town (bigger and more movies to choose from) All they have there is a "Coming Soon" poster of Duke. They have like a dozen posters of Terminator 4. It's still a bit soon, though.
