I just rewatched Lockout (2012) on Netflix the plot is a blatant copy of the Escape from New York/LA movies just set in space.
However, if you want to see what a movie version Chuckles could be; the dialog and tone in the opening interrogation is a near perfect Chuckles character, played by Guy Pearce, IMHO. |

To my horror, the only movie (we haven't already seen) playing locally is "Nobody". Which I have ZERO interest in seeing. So I'm hoping to instead convince my current relationship to watch one or two films from this list of "Five Science Fiction Movies to Stream Now" I found:
https://www.nytimes.com/2021/04/16/m...to-stream.html The only problem is ... I don't particularly like Sci-Fi (with a few major exceptions*). Plus I've never heard of this film critic, so I can't vouch for her credibility. Although she does look quite a bit like one of my uncles (whose credibility I can vouch for, actually). Also, over the weekend, I plan to re-watch the 1st episode of "The Nevers" (HBO). (Hopefully enjoying it more the 2nd time.) * My personal Mt Rushmore: "Her" (2013), "Dark City" (1998), "Blade Runner" (1982) & "Alien"/"Aliens" (1979/1986)

"Space Sweepers" aka "Seungriho" (2021) ... So 71 years from now, as a crew of intergalactic scavengers scour over the remains of a crashed spaceship, some very valuable "cargo"* is discovered onboard. And this surprising discovery ultimately leads to a ransom plot, an evil tech conglomerate, and the 2092 edition of antifa. Not to mention lots of explosions. And robots. And exploding robots.
Now, admittedly, this storyline may seem somewhat generic (plus a bit goofy at times). But so what? This is a really fun film, with shockingly strong CGI (especially for a low budget movie made in South Korea). Even more importantly, the individual characters (and their motivations) are both interesting and diverse. PS Apparently, this movie has been a big hit on Netflix. And I can certainly see why. PPS Oh, and almost forgot ... there's a transgender android, also. * Won't spoil anything by saying what the "cargo" is, exactly. Though if you've seen a lot of sci-fi, you already know.
