Wonder Woman.
It was okay. Gadot was good in it. I think I'm bored with the comic book movie formula. I got bored with origin stories years ago, so much I might skip the new Spider-Man, but I'll wait and see. |

Watched Logan for the first time this weekend. I enjoyed the acting, but I'm starting to think I'm not the audience here. I don't know if you can enjoy a movie all about the guilt and sadness of getting old and past your prime.

The new Spider-Man might become only the 6th Marvel or DC movie I don't go to see in the theater in the last 10 years (along with the Ghost Riders, Fantastic Four 2015, Punisher War Zone and X-Men Origins Wolverine).
The movie looks unrecognizable as Spider-Man. Aunt May is a MILF, Spider-Man has a fat ethnic sidekick who knows his identity, and Iron Man apparently plays a huge part in mentoring Spider-Man and building him a special Spider-suit. Bunch of crap. On top of that, the teen-age high school side of the storyline looks like an ABC Family sitcom. High school characters work in movies when the drama is played up for maximum effect, like in BTTF or a John Hughes movie, so it looks as dramatic on screen as we all thought our high school days were when we were living them. It should look like the hero is deathly afraid of being killed by the bully and that characters will die of heartbreak if they get turned down for a date. Peter and the kids in this one talk like normal, bland, average kids who have no particularly strong hopes and dreams and make stupid, snarky remarks at each other. More crap. |
