I have to disagree with this. Dr. Strange was exactly as good as I expected, because at this point Marvel's reputation is such that "Amazingly Awesome" is the expectation rather than the exception.

I said it was something said often about Marvel flicks, which is speaking broadly of the general population. You are only speaking for yourself. I'm with you in that I expect a Marvel movie to be very good, but I can't even begin to tell you how often people say "Man, that was amazing! Definitely better than I expected." when discussing a Marvel movies. Even after this string of strong Marvel Studios films, we still have plenty of people who decide to wait when it comes to the lesser known characters. The only exception to that is GOTG, but that's because strong word of mouth rebounded that film back to number 1 in it's 3rd or 4th week, but Ant-man and Dr. Strange didn't perform as well as they probably should've. And those people who saw them later really missed out on the big screen experience with both movies. Especially Dr. Strange...I think seeing that in IMAX 3D triggered a flashback from my LSD days. Not kidding. Trippy shit. |

Very intense and interesting. Even my kids liked it.

it's not B&R league terrible, but it's not brilliant. It's mediocre with some brilliance.
