Because while I like the Sweeney, I don't like Nick Love films or modern British "gangsta" movies that try too 'ard. I was wondering if one outweighed the other.
But I don't think I'll bother. When they make the typical non-fan assumption that Inspector Regan has to be played by a 'professional cockney' (when in fact the character was supposed to be from Manchester), I know they only seem to have a superficial grasp of what the show was about. The Sweeney was never just about car chases, shoot-outs and blags, it was about how the job affected the policemen themselves and how changes to the job were making it increasingly impossible to do. Didn't really pick that up from the trailer or from anyone else who's seen the film. |

"Avatar" - Still not one of my favorites, but I had to finally watch it on my new tv. It's too long, Sam Worthington can't act, and it looks like an extended video game cut-scene...but it's fun to watch on a big screen.

Moontrap
Absolutely AWFUL 1989 cheapo sci-fi starring the typically wooden Walter Koenig, but redeemed (ever so slightly) by Bruce Campbell being his awesome self.

"King Kong" - The Peter Jackson one. It's got the same fake look as "Avatar", but I like this movie way more. I watched the extended cut, that features a few more scenes with dinosaurs and some piranha thing. I like the movie, but it's one that I like to go a couple years in between viewings.

The Fringe finalé, which was feature-length.
...and I'm sobbing like a baby. What a way for such a beautifully nuanced, perfectly acted and exquisitely written series to bow out on. I'll miss Walter, Peter, Liv and Astrid... TV will be far duller without them.
