I am purposely skipping prey and whatever the last alien movie (and the tv show) is because i am sick of the last girl trope and production thinking they're doing anything to break new ground. Horror is an entire genre with 95% based off that premise.
Outside of that i enjoy aliens, predator, and terminator (not dark fate or zero). When they think they're doing something different with these franchises they're just making things worse. |

Now You See Me. This was really good and did not see the twist at the end. I knew I had this movie figured out 3 different times and was wrong on all of them.

The Final Alliance (1990)
The Hoff plays a drifter with a puma who comes back home for a reckoning with an albino John Saxon and typical Bo Hopkins sleazy sheriff. So bad, so fun. Quote:
I think Prey looked like another (bad) trope that's become too common: a 20-something, waif heroine being more fierce, more intelligent, more capable, than the stars who gave the franchise teeth, and being propped up as "fresh and invigorating" but only having CW-level acting chops. No, not that Arnold, Sly, Dolphy, or JCVD were remarkable thespians, but they sold the action.

Luke Cage: Season Two
Much better season than part one. Bushmaster was a great villain and Mustafa Shakir played him superbly. Mahershala Ali is a good actor, but Cottonmouth was just boring in the first season and nothing about Mariah Dillard ever screamed 'threat' to me. And Diamondback was too over the top and cartoony and poorly acted. It was also great to see Reg Cathey as Luke Cage's dad.

This is a character that could've worked great in a '70s/'80s set show. This and Punisher, but most of their street-level heroes.
Have you watched Werewolf by Night (2022) yet?

I think I saw a headline about a second WBN special. LC wasn't all bad. Kinda felt like it wanted to be something heavier/deeper than what it actually was ... but the lead actor was solid.

I just watched mickey 17 with my wife. I really enjoyed it. She did too, and she typically really hates sci-fi. She has been on a robert pattinson kick since batman (i skipped that one) and she was really trying to get us to watch this one together.
I really wanted to see it and i super enjoyed it. Im buying the dvd (she even suggested doing that)It's on hbo max. |
