Son of Kong (1933) Cheap, quick sequel. It had been probably 25 years since I last saw it. Some fun stop-motion, not much else to enjoy.
How to Train Your Dragon (2010) Pretty solid. Not many kids' films have the guts to seriously injure their main character. Quote:
I've never looked into it, but I wonder how many times the sequels were made after studio contracts with actors ended and how many times it was because the actors ticked off the studio heads. I've read accounts of actors having their entire careers sidelined by studios/directors.
Their voices aren't as strong, but if you want a cool experience, the animated Batman 1966 movies are kinda fun. Shatner plays Two-Face against Adam West's Batman. I prefer 20000 Leagues, too, but old book illustrations are often remarkable. I've always liked the idea of the animated Batman 66 movies, but I somehow have never gotten around to watching them. Agreed on the old book illustrations, they can be fantastic. Quote:

In some respects, Godzilla vs Destoroyah could still be considered the last real Godzilla movie because it was the last one Tomoyuki Tanaka was involved in before his death in 1997, and the last one Akira Ifukube scored, though his Godzilla themes and roar are still used today. (Tanaka was basically Godzilla's Cubby Broccoli or George Lucas, and Ifukube was to Godzilla what John Williams is to Star Wars or Indiana Jones) Last edited by SnowCat; Yesterday at 11:09 AM.. |

Novocaine with the Quaid kid from The Boyz. It is really bad and really violent, I loved it.

Agents of SHIELD: Season Five
After how great Season Four was, Season Five was a huge letdown, what with all the future stuff, and Kree, and it was just not very good. Didn't really feel like an Agents of SHIELD season... felt more like a Guardians of the Galaxy film... but without those characters, it just wasn't as good.

Hero and The Terror (1988)
Not a bad flick. I like when there are horror/supernatural elements to cop movies and this was done lightly enough in that regard to seem like classic Chuck Norris. A few of his movies run together/seem like other movies and this is one of them; but the cast is familiar in a good way. I'll have to check the set of movies I have for the Mummy as some of those have great commentaries. The animated '66 films are fun for nostalgia but not great. My favorite "old" illustrated book is the one that detailed President Grant's world tour; as he was the first POTUS to do so. I found it at a local antique mall for a couple of bucks. Nolte was so clean-cut and easy going on Emergency! that it made me wonder if he was acting or not. There's also an episode where Scott Glenn plays a reckless forklift operator. Looks like an early role for him.
