The Invisible Man Returns (1940) There's an interesting idea here with a condemned innocent man slowly going mad, keeping the audience wondering if he will become a murderer after all. Vincent Price is always a plus, but it's not as good as the 1933 original.

Scream of the Wolf (1974)
Peter Graves is a tracker/hunter who tries to get renowned game hunter Clint Walker to help him track down a possible werewolf that's attacking locals. Lovely Jo Ann Pflug co-stars. She was Big Jack on season 1 of The Fall Guy and formerly a wife of the late great Chuck "Love Connection" Woolery. It's low budget, possibly Made-for-TV cheese, and I thoroughly enjoy it. Quote:
Even the pet disliked the movie, then? I barely made it through OMF and gladly went to sleep isntead of watching In Like Flint (borrowing from a phrase that has a potentially creepy origin story).

I may not have seen those, but "Detonator" sounds familiar. I was thinking Alison Doody was in Live Wire but she and PB were in Taffin. Live Wire was PB playing a bomb disposal expert. Someone else finishing another author's work can get sketchy.
Yeah, it would definitely have to be the Sunbow cast. Nothing sounds worse than a Cobra Commander who isn't Chris Latta. Last edited by SnowCat; Yesterday at 11:28 PM.. |

John Carpenter's The Fog (1980)
Still an awesome, atmospheric, eerie movie with an exceptional cast. Jamie Lee Curtis is in it too. Quote:

TIMR made him more sympathetic, I thought, and VP plays the part again in Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein. I've never watched Kolchak because I haven't seen much of Darren McGavin's work that I've liked him in ... good call on that phrase ... Taffin wasn't memorable (except Alison Doody had a nude scene) ... not a fan of Charlie Adler?

Strange to think DL was only a year older than today's birthday boy - John Carpenter - who looks much older than 77. I think I'll close the night by watching one of his early movies. I've watched many of DL's films and TP but was never fascinated. He sure could cast actresses, though, and his version of Dune was good.

Ladyhawke (1985)
Matthew Broderick was a bad casting choice in an otherwise strangely cool movie. Quote:
Saw Eraserhead when I was 18, and was completely blown away by both the strangeness of his universe and how well the movie maintained its own sense of a consistent reality that was not our own. It opened my eyes to the creative possibilities of film and I've been chasing that same high ever since. I'm not very into his Dune or Elephant Man, but Blue Velvet is one of my all-time favorites and his later work was usually worth the time.
Between his measurements and his voice, Clark Kent would've had his "mild-mannered disguise" work cut out for him. I think I would have liked to see CW play The Phantom, Joe Colton, Flint, the Lone Ranger, and ....
