After I realized i need to expand my movie collection, i started up a list to get. I want to expand my scifi collection (think like star wars, enemy mine), action (like big trouble in little china, and mad max), fantasy, horror(no demons -just not into it and slashers and inbred cannibals - that shit is real)..my collection is made up of blockbusters and other rental stores closing, zombie movies, post apocalyptic movies, westerns, sci-fi, comedy, action.
You might have seen most of these, just general genre picks not on your list that I like to rewatch... Sci-fi: Blade Runner, The Fifth Element, Starman, They Live Action: Escape from New York, The Last Dragon, Remo Williams: The Adventure Begins, Shaolin Soccer Fantasy: The Princess Bride, Time Bandits, The Secret World of Arrietty, Everything Everywhere All At Once Horror: An American Werewolf in London, House, Videodrome, Let the Right One In |

Hatari! (1962)
The Black Cat (1934) Some great cinematography and acting in this one. Final act gets a bit sloppy. Cocoon (1985) Found a DVD copy recently, which is cool because it's kind of an infamously hard to see movie these days (Only one real DVD release 20+ years ago and has never streamed anywhere). It's an interesting movie, but it's no wonder BTTF overshadows it as the big scifi film of 1985. Quote:

old 1980s comedy action movie Tank is on Netflix which it popped up on Netflix earlier today or tonight.
I haven't seen that movie for a long long time. Since I was a little kid in the early 1980s where movies like Tank and other stuff would pop up on HBO during the weekernds This reminded me, I forgot to mention the other day when we were discussing Rockford Files that Atkins plays a recurring character in a number of episodes in the first few years. |

I'm sure it was mentioned in The Art of GI Joe book. The artist was Doug Hart, the image is the one at the top of the page: https://www.3djoes.com/19872.html

If you keep an eye out at your local thrift stores, you can usually find one or two of his books in paperback form. I actually saw a copy of Guns of Navarone alongside some Bond books just last Saturday.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alista...#List_of_works One warning: there are a few of the film adaptations that should be avoided at all costs: Way to Dusty Death, River of Death and the two Detonator films with Pierce Brosnan. There's a couple of other boring/not too good MacLean films, but those four are truly abysmal. Quote:

I backed that book very early on and - while I'm glad it was such a success - I would've preferred it stayed smaller in scale. It grew so much that it's become too cumbersome to casually thumb through. Not sure I see Christopher Reeve in that image - will have to look closer - but thank you fro sharing the link.
I double checked the book and the way it's written, it could be referring to the 1988 MB GI Joe connecting puzzle with Falcon, but it's not real clear. Nice! Last edited by SnowCat; Today at 11:33 PM.. Reason: Correcting info |
