I love some of the little touches in the episode, like when they take that shot where the Tribble, obviously tossed by some person on the other side of the wall, hits Kirk on the head, and literally have Dax or Sisko toss it in the episode. Great stuff.

It's probably the only scene in the movie that Roddenberry would've approved of...

The later films are especially stronger for their IMF teams, but they can't undo the way they screwed over the front man. CHiPs, Starsky, the Dukes ... all got crapped on. Beverly Hillbillies and the Flintstones were/are good re-watches. I'm not sure I want to watch Ryan Gosling's The Fall Guy.
I'm not the biggest fan of most of the MI movies. I think Ghost Protocol (#4) was my favorite. It feels like the most complete package. I don't hate 5 & 6, but it seems like they wanted them to be more complicated than they should've been. (Actually, my favorite individual scene in any of the films was the opening of 6. The whole "Fake the massive earth-shattering event to trick the badguy into thinking he succeeded" is totally old-school IMF.)

I am looking forward to the new one. Cruise and McQuarrie earned a lot of good will from me with Top Gun: Maverick, and Hayley Atwell is always good. Plus it isn't a cape movie.

Agreed on Gosling's Fall Guy. I haven't seen the original, but modern remakes and sequels just ain't worth it. Maybe some good will come of it; maybe they'll make the original show easier to get on DVD.

I usually try to go to movies with at least one other person for this exact reason. So many movies seem cool in the theater, but the more you talk it out, the more you realize a film's problems. Helps to separate good films from bad.

Planet of the Apes (1968) First time watching it, and I have to say that I expected better. Most of the movie is actually pretty dull. Maybe it works better without knowing the ending ahead of time.

The Deep (1977) Some pretty good scenes, and a great cast, but a bit on the long side.
