Yeah, I hated that scene. I'm glad they showcased how powerful Wanda is, but not at the expense of making the Illuminati look that pathetically weak.

Both the City Hunter and Feral Hunter were younger Yautja, so they made mistakes the older ones wouldn't have. The Jungle Hunter, in comparison, was a seasoned veteran and it took a military special forces Major to take him out. I mean, throughout that entire movie he only got hit once, by Mac after Blain got killed. And even though Arnold got in a few shots during the final fight, once the Predator took his mask off, it was a complete beatdown on Arnold until the trap was sprung. The City Hunter and Feral Hunter, on the other hand, were both severely injured prior to their fatal injuries.

The Illuminati were arrogant pricks who dismissed Wanda as a 'little witch' so them getting their butts handed to them was their hubris biting them hard. Nice to see Captain Carter in LA though and I would happily watch a Captain Carter movie or series. (I loved AGENT Carter before anyone mentions that)

"Getting their butts handed to them" is quite an understatement, actually. And yes, Wanda was/is totally fierce. Unfortunately, however, her big moment came at an enormous cost to several other key characters (who not only appeared incredibly weak, but shockingly stupid as well). In one fell swoop, those scenes basically robbed "The Illuminati" of all their street cred.

Also, and I'll try to say this in a spoiler-free way, I do truly hope they recast the, um, "guy in the chair" before he/his students make their proper MCU debut. No offense to Sir Patrick (who I love), but he's too old. Plus I don't want to be reminded of those horrid Fox films (which, imo, were a stain on the legacy of my all-time favourite comic characters).

Did you hate all of them? I rather liked quite a few (X2, Logan, Days of Future Past). Apocalpse and Dark Phoenix really shat the bed, though.

I agree about Sir Patrick. I think it would be nice to have James McAvoy return to the role.

Judged solely on its own merits as a separate standalone entity (i.e. "in a vacuum"), I liked "Logan" quite a bit. And "X2" was okay/so-so. However, I refuse to accept any of those Fox films as true X-Men movies. Not with how they treated Rogue and Jean.

No. Not him either.

Rumour has it that if they want to recast, they need to wait until the contracts for McAvoy/Fassbender/Shipp/Peters et al expire or they'd be obligated to use them for those characters and that they'd have to credit Kinberg, Singer and others. I dunno how true that is.

Plenty of mutants they could use as X-Men though that haven't been in the movies...

I've heard that rumour as well. However, doesn't the entire premise strike you as rather odd? I could see Disney being legally compelled to still pay them (prior to their contracts expiring), but being forced to actually put them in the movie, too? Though I'm not a lawyer*, I just find the whole concept highly dubious. Particularly in light of the Lena Headey/"Love and Thunder" affair.

Also, a couple months ago, James McAvoy was asked on Twitter if he missed "being Charles Xavier". And he replied, "No, I don't think so. [ laughing emoji ]". Plus, there are confirmed reports that Giancarlo Esposito has spoken with Marvel about playing Prof X**. Although, I must confess, I'm not loving that idea either, actually***.

* Nor did I stay at a Holiday Inn last night.

** Or Magneto ... or Dr Doom ...

*** Really Marvel should probably just let me cast the entire movie myself. It would be so much easier that way.
