Oh, and also saw "Nope" (2022), a very clever sci-fi western from Jordan Peele (the director of "Get Out" and "Us"). While probably impossible to summarize the plot without giving too much away, it definitely wasn't at all what I (or likely anyone else) was expecting.

Resident Evil: Afterlife. We're marathoning the old series. It's interesting to me how much it deviates from the games while stil incorporating so much straight out of the games. And Milla Jovovich is a badass.

Both were pretty good. Shark Bait is one o those new direct to video horror movies at Walmart and once in awhile some of those horror movies at Walmart theyre actually prety good. I still need to get that new Christina Ricci Monstrous movie from Walmart |

Such a strange time to abandon ship, with the sequel to the best MCU movie ever (by far) only a few months away ...

Best "Marvel movie"? Not necessarily. "Spider-Man 2"* is at least as good, if not better, IMO. However, do I consider "Black Panther" the best (by far) of the MCU? Of course. Doesn't everyone? That opinion is pretty much universally accepted at this point.
The film just feels appreciably more substantive/"significant" than their typical noisy, cluttered spectacles. And as much as I love Hela**, Killmonger is the MCU's most complex/interesting "villain" (even if not really a villain at all, actually). Only complaint I have with "Black Panther" is the CGI, which is (on occasion) surprisingly/stunningly awful. * My Mt Rushmore of super-hero movies: "Black Panther" (2018), "The Dark Knight" (2008), "Spider-Man 2" (2004), and "Batman Returns" (1992). ** My Mt Rushmore of Marvel Legends: Hela (2-pack version), Rescue Armour (2-pack version), She-Hulk (Super Skrull wave), and Hela (Gladiator Hulk wave).

You know, even though I liked Love & Thunder a lot, Multiverse of Madness too, and the last Spidey flick was ok, I think I'm done with the MCU. Not that they're suddenly shitty, but that I think I was in it for the Avengers Assemble/Infinity storyline they built and now that it's over, I guess I feel like I'm done. I'll probably still catch them here and there, but I don't feel hyped for any of them (Ant-Man 3 will be fun for sure though). Probably superhero flick fatigue too. I feel no desire to see any of the DC stuff, and still haven't seen The Batman. I just don't care about it. Anyone else cruising in a similar boat?

Me. Last one I liked was Infinity War and was so disappointed with Endgame.

The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent. I had a blast watching Nick Cage play a parody of himself.
