It certainly should be (actually owning media is another benefit of DVD/BR), but who knows anymore?

Pretty much every new blu ray comes with a digital copy code. I've been redeeming all of mine on Movies Anywhere. They show up automatically on my Fire Stick, so I can access that if I don't have the disc handy. Plus it's nice to have them on my iPad for long flights. The expiration dates are usually nonsense, I've redeemed codes that are ten years old.

i really want to stay way far away from cloud based collection. i work on the cloud and it's not great.

i want physical copies of my movies. if power goes out for a period of time, i can plug my dvd player and tv in to my generator.

i have 28 days later on dvd, i heard that it was rare; saw the trailer for the new one this morning and thought to look it up. it's like 8 bucks on ebay.

what gives? how is this rare?

Zombie movies aren't really my thing, so I can't offer much help here, but I will say I only remember seeing the DVD secondhand once. Someone had placed it in a bin right next to the 2000s rom-com 28 Days, which I found hilarious.

I wonder if it was hard to get for a while, but got a more updated release that drove the prices down on the older one. Rights issues can always change things like that.

Someone lost the rights, so it went out of print and was unavailable from streaming services. Sony recently picked it up and it's available to stream again.

Something similar happened to Dogma for a while.

I'm 4 movies away from 600 in my collection.

I noticed that i havent separated out a few collections so it looks like i am at (hills trinity needs to split up) or over 600 movies now.

601 not counting a few i keep in my car.

I haven't split those collection discs yet.

One funny thing is i had to make more room for my action/adventure/western movies and that took moving my drama/indie movies around because they're under the aaw ones. I accidentally organized my independent movies away from my dvd collection entirely on the other side of the room in some smaller display boxes I made for my original dvd shelves. So they're REALLY independent.
