I wonder what a Guy Ritchie G.I. Joe movie would be like:

Yes, please.
This one looks decent too. Thanks for posting. Was not aware of this one! |

I think Ritchie has a similar problem as Tarantino, he spends so much time trying to fill movies with his signature style that he sometimes forgets to try to make the movie good. Not sure he'd be a good choice for a GI Joe film.
As far as this one, it looks to me like they're playing it too broad and over-the-top. It reminds me of Inglourious Bast*rds, which was an awful film that seems to have tricked people into thinking it was good. A film like this deserves a more classic, Where Eagles Dare, Guns of Navarone and Dirty Dozen-type approach. But, it's hard to tell from just a trailer. |

Guns of Navarone is worth a watch. It's nowhere near as good as Where Eagles Dare, but it's about the level of Dirty Dozen and much better than Force 10.

I've read stuff about the SOE, SAS, LRDG and SBS from the war and I know that some of them come off as being border-line psychos, but I really have trouble believing someone in the 1940s would be doing that stupid tongue-out schtick Cav keeps doing.

Pretty sure that was taken in the 1950s, and besides, he's not British. I meant someone British.

Churchill did that a lot. It was his signature move.
