People are ridiculous. It doesn’t matter! You are entitled to your opinion. I didn’t like the character at first either but she has grown on me as an over the top villain type. I’m curious to see what happens with her and what is motivating the character to track down Kenobi. My guess is she was the padawan in the opening scene.
Someone calling you a racist for not liking a character in a science fiction show is part of the clown world we have lived in for the past 5 or so years. |

All of Disney's efforts are spun in advance because producing controversy is apparently easier than producing good content.
They have the gusher bots and "all complainers are racists" ready to go. Marketing says any attention is good attention. |

I'm pretty sure Disney planned this on purpose to generate controversy. You can tell in the first episode the range of emotions the actress is showing on her face when she's seething that she's been fed bad material. They even made public that they warned her about racist slander while casting for the character. Who publicizes that unless they have an ulterior motive?
She's being thrown under the bus just like Mark Hammill, except for a different reason. You can blame Disney for some conspiracy theory or look at what happened to actors that played Rose and Finn. I presume that Disney didn?t want two more actors calling them out on not not having their backs and tried to get ahead of the situation. I have seen a million posts that are along the same lines as: ?we can?t even dislike a character anymore because we just a don?t like them without being called a racist?. Thus whole thing isn?t about you. Her posts and the Disney posts are directly in response to the truly vile and terribly racist shit that has been sent to her via DM. They are calling out those people, not the people who don?t like the writing/acting. Now, is there a weird amount of ?yeah, yeah! It?s the writing and acting that we don?t like! That?s the ticket? overreaction? Maybe? It reminds me of white people who get all weird when black people talk about racist white people and then they feel the need to defend themselves by saying ?not all white people?. Well yeah?.they aren?t saying all white people? |

I am in no way defending Disney, but this comes up all the time and it annoys me when people don’t actually read and see what’s going on vs just jumping down Disney for being ‘woke’ or that they are implying that the entire fan base is racist. Last edited by PFC Hudson; 06-07-2022 at 02:21 PM.. |

Sounds like this will be another Rose Tico story. That character was absolutely horrible but I personally find Kelly Marie Tran to be very cute. But if a character is horribly written and not well acted (bad directions or just not a good actor/actress) they will not be liked. I agree tho Reva is terrible as for the actress that plays her I have no opinion yet as I know nothing about her except what she has done in obi wan. Hopefully time will tell.

I didn?t read what the OP posted, so just hear that.

I?m giving some context to the over arching situation that is happening now. As I mentioned. I didn?t go in to read what the OP posted nor did I say he was being racist. |

So what part of the OP are you addressing? Or are you discussing something different that was not mentioned here earlier? I'm trying to follow that's all.

That?s my bad, I guess I didn?t fully set the tone for the response I gave. I looked at all the posts throughout the first 3 pages and then hit the reply button to the first posts. SsMy post wasn?t a direct response to him, but a response to the over arching theme of this situation and a direct response to other people in this thread. I shouldn?t have directly replied to his post, it should have been a general reply. That?s on me and I can see how it might be confusing to some.
