I always go for IJLC first but ROTLA is a tight second. IJTOD AND IJKCS are equally ... avoided.

Agree on the order of preference, but I do like Temple of Doom. I strongly suspect nostalgia is at play there, though.

I have no preference, they're all plenty awesome in their own way and so much better than 99% of the other action/adventure shit out there. And fuck the Crystal Skull haters. I always see the negative reactions to that film as just nerds being nerds and nerding the fun out of things.

Raiders of the Lost Ark, for sure. Everything is firing on all cylinders in that movie. I feel like 1981 is kinda the peak of genius for Spielberg, Lucas, John Williams and Harrison Ford, and it shows. Add to that a great cast: Karen Allen is wonderful, she's able to be both tough and vulnerable. John Rhys-Davies: come on, he's great in everything. Paul Freeman and Ronald Lacey are two of the best villains of all time. It's even got Alfred Molina. Pacing is perfect. Set design is amazing. Action sequences are expertly crafted and executed.
I love Last Crusade and occasionally enjoy Temple of Doom, but Raiders is a top-3 movie for me. |

On the flipside, it's a lot of fun to watch. Quote:
One downside to the Raiders comic adaptation is that they removed all of Indy's afore-mentioned skepticism, which kinda guts the impact of the ending. Quote:

On the positive side, Marion is back (nice to see a happy-ish ending for the Indy/Marion story), Harrison Ford is still great (he clearly actually wanted to be there, a rarity these days), and it's almost certainly way better than the movie Disney is making. Also, Sataninjaku, have you seen Cobra Kai? It's my only outlier on the continuation thing, lol. |

I can never tell if HF is acting, but he seems like a crusty ol' d*ck in real life the past decade or so. Maybe he's cranky that he let the hot German from IJLC die? And, I suspect he's only making IJ5 so he can kill off this character too. |
