I liked the movie and the graphic novel. I think the director stayed true to the graphic novel as much as possible. I liked the production quality and feel of the movie. Very raw and gritty at times. I had seen it twice in the theater, but watching the director's cut still give me chills during some scenes. The director is the same as the movie 300 which I also liked very much. I can't wait for his next project.

I liked both the GN and the movie. I think it was a fair representation of the original work. The only part I disliked was Rorschach's ending in the movie was totally unlike his character, almost made him seem like a puss. Otherwise it was pretty great.

By far one of the best comic stories out there. Imo the movie was a great depiction of the comic, not completely accurate, but still one of the best comic movies ever!

My favorite Rorshach scene is when he totally beats down the prison inmate in the lunch line. The guards are trying to subdue him and he says something to the effect of "None of you understand. I'm not locked up in here with you. You're locked up in here with me!"

I just saw it on Monday for the first time. I thought it was an interesting film. For some reason I thought it was going to be 3+ hrs long because of all the talk I've heard complaining about the length but I didn't find it to be too long. I liked that it was a different style of super hero movie where the heroes weren't always boy scouts. I liked the alternate reality universe that it took place in. I think I'd have to watch it again to really get a grasp on just how great it is and how "rewatchable" it is. As for the commentor who said this and TDK was boring... what is your idea of a good movie then? I can watch TDK still and I've probably seen it 5 times now since being released to DVD.

I never even heard of the graphic novel before they announced they were making the film. I'm not going to buy the DVD this week but I did enjoy the movie. I saw it in IMAX and it didn't disappoint. I thought the length was just right and it didn't seem long at at all.
Everyone always talks about how they like the "flawed super heroes" concept...I just thought it was a solid, interesting story with good writing. I'll probably buy it next year when it's on the $8 shelf at Target but I don't feel the need to get a director's cut.

Missed it in theaters (which was weird, because I'm a pretty big fan of the Watchmen book) Bought the DC Blu-ray and I was actually pretty disappointed by it. It was cool in that it was so close to the book, it really was like looking at a comic come to life... and maybe that's the problem I had with it. Because I know the book so well it felt like the movie was just going through the motions, like it was a bunch of cool scenes that didn't mesh very well. It also made me notice how dated the story telling in Watchmen is. This was a great story when it came out, but the superhero with real issues has been done so many times since, this just felt like old hat. Watching it made me feel that maybe Hollywood isn't wrong when they go their own route with an existing property (at least one that's been around as long as Watchmen) The part I did really like wasn't even in the book at all, it was how Dr.M was implicated in the disaster instead of the space squid. if they had done something more original with the rest of it, maybe I wouldn't feel like I had already seen it all done before.... So I'm a bit bummed out that i didn't like it more or feel more of a connection with it. As it stands, I probably won't even get around to watching it again because I feel like I've already seen it 100 times. Sorry that doesn't make much sense, but that's how it left me feeling.
