Yep, first test it has to pass, does it look like it was made by people who are fans of the original, or does it look like people who looked at the title on the DVD box cover and then "did their own thing?" Clearly this looks like it was made by fans. And of course, we know Jason Reitman is both a fan and a true member of the Ghostbusters family, and was even in GB2. And he was a child of the '80s, exactly the age most kids were if they were GB and RGB fans in "real time." So all it comes down to now is, how talented is he and the rest of the cast and crew to execute the movie well? We can't be sure, but he has a good resume, with popular movies that have had awards recognition.
Ultimately, there has to be a 'passing the torch' movie. This franchise has the potential to continue, and should be allowed to try. So, with one Ghostbuster dead already, it wouldn't make sense to make this an original GBs only movie, and wait more years to pass the torch. This is the franchise's best shot to be brought back to life and continue on. |

I think it looks good; a decent way to continue the original story line and also pass the proton torch. N
The names are annoying (Podcast and Lucky), but maybe the Hasbro screwed it up like the whole Captain Howser situation from Bad Batch. In before the anti-woke snow flake brigade comes complaining about whatever the hell it is they complain about it when something gets changed from a 30 year old franchise. |

Uh, why would they? This movie is not changing things, it's not like the 2016 movie. It's firmly staying within the existing storyline. Fans are mostly on board with this one, other than the ones who just thought it should focus solely on the surviving original GBs.
Jason Reitman gives a 15 minute trailer breakdown, which is really more of just discussing his full intentions for this movie. Really good information to hear, and he doesn't get into plot spoiler stuff: https://www.ign.com/articles/ghostbu...-jason-reitman |

As for the movie, nostalgia only goes so far for me, so I can't say I give a shit. This is one of those films that I wasn't clamoring for. I bet I'll enjoy it as a rental though.

lol No one whines louder than people who call everyone else "snowflake." I tell ya, we need another Great Depression, complete with breadlines and shit, so these fools will have some real stuff to worry about.

Nothing makes me smile as much as when the people who throw out the ‘snow flake’ insult then complain the most about the smallest, most absurd things; missing the fact that they fit the definition more than anyone. I don’t wish for a Great Depression, but if it happens and there are soup and bread lines; the people who call other people snowflakes should be thrown out of the bread and soup line. It would be government social care and I’m pretty sure the Venn Diagram of people who use ‘snow flake’ as an insult and people who are against the government helping people in need would be a 100% overlap. |

Which is nothing but a completely warped distortion and caricature of how traditional Americans think. One side of the aisle builds their whole agenda around the myth that America is teeming with sexist and racist boogeymen, and always says the kind of nonsense you just did. It doesn't matter how many times the people protesting cancel culture and political correctness point out that there have been countless TV and movies starring women, black actors, etc. that they consider classics and favorites. Where are these mythical people that somehow love Ghostbusters, but think it shouldn't have a black character...even though it always did? The people who want a big-name character to have their race changed are the people who are inserting racial politics into entertainment. Normal, non-political people just want traditional, faithful, accurate adaptations.

Seriously does every thread have to turn into the same old political garbage as the last. WTF already. If everyone wants to constantly discuss poltical affiars or the current state of the union or just want to throw insults at each other please find a new site to linger on. Plenty of places to do so. I sincerely miss the old days when the mods would nip this s*** in the bud
