bill murray, dan akyroyd, and ernie hudson also had great things to say about the 2016 thing.
they all regret that now. as for ramis and murray fixing things, they pretty much did after the 2009 game. following that, bill started to be optimistic about a third ghostbusters movie, so they(nerds that deserved that 2016 thing, and the studio) stopped pestering him about it. then the thing from 2016 happened and they forced him along because of his contract. you could tell he didnt want to be there, because it wasnt any good. but without that ever happening, we wouldnt have gotten this: but anyway, i still believe it's 30 years too late. i left the theater in 1989 a happy 6 year old never conceptualizing a third movie for that franchise. prior to afterlife, i never saw a single concept for one that was worth a damn. https://uproxx.com/movies/the-story-...-21-year-rift/ |

I really enjoyed the film. It wasn’t the GB3 everyone would’ve liked to have had 30 years ago, but it was as close as we’re gonna get. It was a little slow at times, and a lot of the jokes fell flat for me. That being said, a lot of the humor was aimed at a younger generation of fans. I have one small complaint, the absence of Slimer. Kind of weird they didn’t have him in there somewhere. Fan service heavy? Absolutely, and I’m happy for that. For some reason critics think if a filmmaker goes out of their way to give fans what they want, it’s a bad thing. Anyway, for me it’s a worthy follow up. Jason Reitman did a wonderful job paying tribute to the characters we loved growing up and to the late Harold Ramis.

I?m not really surprised. I think Ghostbusters is kind of a niche property at this point. Sony really wants it to be a huge franchise but I think it lost the prospect of doing that when they didn?t follow up with more sequels after GB2 in a timely manner. Hopefully though, this one will do well enough to get some more. The budget was significantly less for this one than 2016, so there?s more room to actually make money.

I wondered if they would bring back Egon at the end and do something like the figure they released with the ghost. I have not seen it so hopefully if they did it is not cheesy.
