Terminator Salvation has me completely sold as being awesome now that I know Michael Ironside is in it!
I know a lot of you guys are fans, seeing as how the Tv series "V" is mentioned quite a bit on here, and all of us who've seen Total Recall love to say: "See you at the party Richter!" I love me some Michael Ironside! I also think it's cool that thru 6 degrees of separation, he hunted Schwarzenegger's character "Quaid" in Total Recall, and now he's landed in Schwarzenegger-ian territory as well, by being given a role in TERMINATOR SALVATION. Ironside seems to play one of the commanders, if not the head commander of the resistance as John Connor's leadership grows. he plays GENERAL ASHDOWN. You can see Ironside in character briefly in the new 4 minute extended trailer on the TERMINATOR SALVATION official website. Michael Ironside is definately one of the screen's unsung heroes of all the working "charactor" actors still going strong today. |

Some of the great bits from Ironside in troopers...
"Raszcak's roughnecks!" JEAN RASCZAK: I need a corporal. You're it, until you're dead or I find someone better. JEAN RASCZAK: This is for all you new people: I only have one rule. Everyone fights. No one quits. You don't do your job, I'll shoot you myself. You get me? JEAN RASCZAK: Warm it up, everything you've got. C'mon you apes, you wanna live forever? JEAN RASCZAK: They sucked his brains out. JEAN RASCZAK: Violence has resolved more conflicts than anything else. The contrary opinion that violence doesn't solve anything is merely wishful thinking at its worst. JEAN RASCZAK: You once asked me for advice. You want some now? Never pass up a good thing. I love his secondary character reveal too, with the camera move from the robotic arm prosthesis, to his face as, he walks the ready line. |

Man now I got to go watch that again. That was such an underrated movie, I think the subtext was lost on everyone.

It gets 7.0 outta 10 on IMDB.com, which is cool. That means at least it's not over-looked.
The 7.0 rating also lends to the fact that hard R rated sci-fi movies can maintain among audiences over time. The book is a great read too. The sociopolitical satirizing and all the other really interesting bits in there make the novel on my recommended reading list. |

He was also "Jester" in TOP GUN, which is the movie that sold more USS Flagg's and SKy Strikers than Hasbro ever dreamed.

Sweet gotta love the Canadian actor who made being a merc....Kooool Made the film that more exciting knowing he`s in it. Tho if I have read right,Arnie is in it,in a fashion. Apparently the T800 model are in (cameo I think) & an Austrian Bodybuilder was used who is similar in appearance to Arnie, then using computer witchcraft, they made him look like the Govenator. So even tho with his bust schedual the original Terminator is in it..... sorta
