I'm still WAY more interested in it than any of DC/WB's broody shite or Star Trek: Fast, Furious and Beyond.

The top movie I think that I want to see this year is the new Jason Bourne film. I know nothing about it other than it's got Matt Damon and Paul Greengrass back, but that's enough.
I didn't think the X films could get any worse after seeing "Days of Future Past", but Bryan Singer looks like he's done it. That trailer was awful. I almost expected to see a frickin' Sharknado behind Magneto when they showed his close-up. I can't get worked up for Deadpool either. Ryan Reynolds is just box-office poison. I give them points for going all out on it though. As for the Marvel stuff, I'm just getting a little tired of it. I think they're at their best when they focus on the title character, and not worry about having to connect to the MCU at large. Iron Man and the two Cap films worked because they focused on themselves. I just find it hard to believe that we've seen Tony Stark presumed dead, with the President kidnapped in one movie, with no other Avengers or even Nick Fury popping up. And Steve Rogers branded a traitor and hunted down in another, with no help from Stark. But yet now they'll butt heads all because of Bucky. And the mere presence of Thunderbolt Ross (who by the way is, was, and always will be only brought to justice by Sam Elliott) makes me fear that Red Hulk is inevitable. As for the DC stuff, I want to see it, and I hope it's good. I just can't be 100% sure about it. I do love that we're finally getting an arrogant Bruce Wayne though. And I think Snyder's style is a good fit for the more mythic DC stories. Not sure when he got such a Michael Bay-like reputation, but I like him. I'll see Star Trek because Justin Lin makes exciting movies, and Idris Elba plays the villain. That's all I need. I'm kind of intrigued by Independence Day: Resurgence. I like the idea, and I love that Jeff Goldblum is back. It's the rest of the cast that is iffy. TMNT 2 looks fun as hell. The original one was better than I expected. It just needed less Will Arnett. Preferably none at all. The Jungle Book is another one that I loved the trailer of. And the last one that I can think of that I'm looking forward to is the sequel to Jack Reacher. The first was one of the most solid action films in years. |

I'm very, very excited for CA3. The Jungle Book also looks quite good. I'm less enthusiastic about X-Men. It's like they've spent the last ten years trying to undo the damage from Last Stand. The two Wolverine movies were unwatchable. I also think that it is hilarious that they cast Jennifer Lawrence as Mystique, but now that she is a hit they are trying to rewrite the character so she can be the leader of the team. Lame.

I want the DC stuff to succeed badly but Gadot as Wonder Woman and Eisenberg as Luthor are major issues for me. Hopefully I will be 100% wrong about them both and they deliver huge. I like Snyder too and have enjoyed his body of work. Dawn Of The Dead remains the 2nd best remake ever IMO beside Carpenters Thing and 300, Watchmen and Man Of Steel(IMO) were all great. |

I hope they render Spidey a bit more, he looks unfinished.

I like the costume for the most part. The eyes look great, but it's unfortunate that this is shown after Deadpool has been a hit, because some might think they copied the moving lenses (not comic fans, just general public). But what I don't like are the big, black stripes all over. They look like duct tape wrapped around his arms and legs. It's as if it's a change made just for the sake of change.
As for the CGI, does that stuff ever actually change between the trailers and finished film? Every so often we see bad CGI in a trailer, like last year with Jurassic World, but it ends up looking the exact same in the movie, no matter what the director says. Given how long they've waited for this reveal, and how soon the movie actually comes out, I'd bet this is how it's going to look in theaters. Still not a fan of Tony being the guy pushing for a Superhero Internal Affairs. He's the only one that needs a babysitter, given all the supervillains that he's spawned, and people that he's killed. |

Cool trailer. Like this much better than the original trailer. The scene with Hurt going through their past escapades looks like an exact copy of the beginning of M:I Rogue Nation though.
How can they explain Spidey's eyes moving on his costume? That does seem like bringing Deadpool costume logic into this movie. Obviously it works better for expressiveness but without Reed Richards in the 'verse to have designed expressive costume eyes for him, I wonder what the explanation is. Definitely an unexpected choice to have reduced the amount of web lines on his costume down to pre-McFarlane era. |
