This year is the 30th anniversary to one of the coolest movies ever! this monumential and influential sci-fi fantasy comedy masterpiece became a box-office sensation 30 years ago and became one of the most beloved comedies of all time.
It spawned a sequel, an awesome animated show, merchandise, games, a cereal and all that. I did saw this in theaters in it's 85 re-issue 3 times when i was 4 and loved it, i watched/taped the animated show religiously, saw the sequel in theaters on my 8th birthday even on opening day, drank ecto-cooler, ate the cereal, had GB 2 cards and all that. |

Out town was too small to have a theater, but the town 8 miles north of us had a little 2-screen theater. So one school night when I was in 3rd grade, my mom actually did something com and took my brother and I to see Ghostbusters. It had been released about a week before, but was so popular that by the time we got to the theater, there was already a line in the parking lot. So we got in line, worried that we wouldn't get a ticket to the 100 seat theater. To make matters worse, the other movie playing was something called "The Evil That Men Do" or something like that. Our hopes were slightly raised as we crept closer to the entrance and ocassionally observed a couple or two go to the theater on the left to see the other movie. Finally we arrived at the counter, and scored the last three tickets to get in! And it was awesome!!! Maybe not appropriate for a third grader, but I has some good stories to share the next day at school.
I love this movie!
