So... Fox's reboot of Mann & Machine's reboot of Holmes & Yo-Yo's reboot of Future Cop...
I know it's not entirely fair to judge based on the pilot but this was a pretty weak start and unless they iron-out some of these problems PDQ, I don't think this is going to be around for long. For starters, I'm SO tired of shows where the hero has an on-going personal mystery to solve. It's been done to death. Then there's the heavy-handed roboist/racist parallels. And yet again, we get the old ''you captured me because I WANTED you to catch me'' shtick. Worst of all though is the complete lack of logic when it comes to the technology featured in the show. A robot cop can tell if you've been eating noodles but can't read when somebody is lying? The robot cops all operate ''on the same frequency?'' They allow machines to make autonomous decisions that override their human partners' judgement? (Yes, I know that's supposed to be a satirical comment on how we give up our freedoms to machines but it's a stupid idea that wouldn't fly.) I swear it's getting to the point where screenwriters are just visiting tvtropes.org and using it as a style guide.

Your review isn't the only one. AICN gave it a similar down vote. It's a disappointing because the show piqued my interest and I like Karl Urban.

It just annoys me when shows have such gaping holes their logic. Everything here was simply to service the advancement of plot and nothing to do with how such a technology would work. Sorry for being such a geek but the moment you have something so blatantly clunky that it takes you out of the story, then you've failed.

Didn't see the first episode yet. I was just struck by the previews in terms of how it looked like a blatant rip-off of Isaac Asimov's Caves of Steel (to the point where until they showed the title I thought it was an adaptation).
Shame it sounds so weak, I'm a fan of Karl Urban. |

From the trailers, it seemed just like "I, Robot". Really bad idea scheduling the premiere up against Sunday Night Football. If that's the regular time slot, I'll never see it.

It's on again tonight at 8, so I guess it's going to be the lead-in to Sleepy Hollow.

STOP SAYING '"SEXBOT!!!''
That was like something from Futurama... Oh and NOW the robot cops can not only tell when somebody is lying but can also scan testicles and determine how ''full'' they are? Yet they can't spot when a prisoner has swallowed a mini-EMP device and is then lying about why he's in the cell? And yes, I know it was played for laughs but if you had a synthetic - and no doubt very expensive - robot leg, would you just randomly stick knives in it? Argh. This show is stupid.

Watched the first episode. Was decent. Some good moments. More good then bad.
The two stars, Urban and Ealy, have good buddy-cop chemistry. Will give it a couple more episodes.
