Heh- OK... here's copy/paste of my discussion/thoughts from a FB page where I'm discussing it-
holy cow. that was amazing. The boy and I loved it- he wants to go see it again. wife hated it- too long and boring and too much fighting and everyone was angry all the time...(granted she does not really enjoy going to the movies anyways and HATES long movies -it too years to get her to see a movie with me after Return of the King-) I could easily have hopped back in line and watched it again tonight. Loved WonderWoman in every scene she was in, and Ben was perfect as a 'pushed-to-far', tired Bruce Wayne. (And Superman is still perfect) I even liked the role Lois had here vs MoS. Jessie's Lex takes some getting used to but I still liked his insanity... and he knows who's coming.... so, BvS: big thumbs up (if you like the dark DC style that has become the norm since Nolan's Batverse... If you hated those and didn't feel MoS then there is no place for you in BvS... I think if they cut 1/2 hr from BvS and that cut was everything about the nature of God/Superman- the movie would have been received much much better. This would have made a perfect Director's Cut, the running time will lose most everyone but the dedicated Batman/Superman fan that just wants another quick and easy superhero flick that we're used to seeing. I think Snyder is great for DC- but he needs to be reigned in a bit on editing. Leave his "deep thoughts" for the home release and make a superhero movie for the average movie-goer that doesn't want their butt numbed by 2.5hrs in a theater cushion. That's not to say the Average movie goer isn't going to "get" a long, philosophical argument on manVsgod- but there is a lot of fun to be had just being a superhero movie that will attract a bigger crowd and make more $$$ so you can keep making superhero movies. Save "your" vision for an extended cut folks can watch from the comfort of their own homes (if they are so inclined) And mild spoilers about the Justice League- XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX XXXXXXXXXXX The intro videos to the rest if the JL were interesting... Flash was fun but Cyborg clip looked out of place- more like it should have been on Supergirl- and Aquaman looked like he was holding his breath. |

BvS is one of my new favorite live action superhero movies and I cant wait for what they do in SS and any future movies.
If anyone hasnt watched the animated movies for the Dark Knight Returns you really should before watching this, it made me love it even more. Im even to the point for these that im not going to watch any trailers and try not to do any internet speculating on any future movies.

I took my 6 year old to watch BvS. He is a big time Hulk/Avengers fan. I think I made him a DC hater for life. 45 minutes into the movie, he started screaming that he wanted to get out of there. Ended up leaving the hall in embarrassment!!! Note to self, no more DC movies in theaters, will be watching them on blurays exclusively..
that said, cant wait for Civil War; hopefully my son will love me again!!!

6 ???
heh- yeah I would say 6 is certainly more Marvel Movieverse and way too young for this chapter of DC movies. I wouldn't recommend BvS for anyone under 13 (But I'm sure there are plenty of younger that have seen it and maybe enjoyed it) . |

I've been meaning to put my thoughts here about BvS, but just haven't had much time lately. Basically, I liked pretty much everything in it (except for Jesse Eisenberg, but I hate him in general), but even being a huge DC fan, even I can't say that it was a great movie. I love the serious vibe to it all. When I was a kid the only funny hero was Spider-Man, so now that everyone is funny, it just makes him less special. But I don't think this film was as good as "Man of Steel". That was just more focused, and on a personal level, I'd always wanted a Superman movie that had a sci-fi feel to it. They did a good job in this one of giving everyone a fair share of screen time, but it really would have benefited from more daylight scenes. I know Batman needs the night, but even Superman's scenes were dark or rainy. I am looking forward to the extra half hour of content on the blu ray. I figure I might as well just buy the 4k version for that, since it comes with the standard blu ray. Even though it'll be another year or two before I get a 4k player probably. The best thing about this movie is that it laid a lot of groundwork for the whole universe. DC took a lot of grief for making it this way, instead of building up the individual characters in their own movies, but when you do that, you tend to dilute the focus (Iron Man 2, I'm looking at you). Just because they have two different methods doesn't mean that one is wrong and the other right. They both work.
Some of the stuff I loved about this movie though: - Batman's fight scenes. They were just so much fun to watch. - Wonder Woman's theme music. It was like something from Led Zepplin played by the devil from the Charlie Daniels song. - Lex confronting Superman. I wasn't crazy about Lex, and I wouldn't even mind it if they replaced him with his father for future films. But when he had Superman on his knees and said that he was going to burn his mom...I sat back in my seat and said "whoa". That gave me a chill. I'm also really looking forward to the Suicide Squad film now too, and I'm not going to watch any more trailers for that just to keep from spoiling anything. I get the feeling they're going to over-sell that one to make up for the reaction to BvS. |

If somebody told when I started this thread that not only would Aquaman get a movie, but said movie would gross over $1 billion dollars worldwide and the JLA movie would underperform I would have felt my intelligence was being insulted and I would have wanted hit the person in the face very hard who told me that bullshit.
