I love Cranston.I think hes a great actor.but I dislike him for the role of Luthor.
why? I like Luthor to be closer in age to Superman and in his physical prime like the post Zero Hour Lex Luthor. nothing against Cranston but this disappoints me.its also interesting to note that they havent canned Strong as Sinestro yet.....seems there might be life in the GL franchise after all. |

I like the choice of Cranston for the role, but I'll admit that I'm kind of disappointed that Matt Damon isn't the one playing that will be playing Lex. I thought Mark Strong was a great Sinestro, so I'm good with the fact that they haven't replaced him.

Keep your hair on: Bryan Cranston is not Lex Luthor in 'Man of Steel' sequel
Cranston ain't Lex. You'd think people would have realized by now that "Cosmicbooknews" is about 90 percent complete bullshit generated to drive up hits, and rather notorious for taking fan-generated rumors and trying to spin them into genuine news stories. |

I wouldve found him to be a very strange choice for LL.like I say hes a good actor and I enjoy his work but he just isnt a good fit for LUthor. |

I'll again say that I'd love to see Matt Damon as Lex Luthor. So, if he's available and interested I think WB should try to make that happen. Last edited by Iron Guru; 08-28-2013 at 08:51 PM.. |

The only sites I'd seen saying that Cranston was Lex were English news sites linking to that other story. It just bugs me that Cranston didn't at least shoot down the rumor on twitter or something.

He would be good. A lot of character actors would be great in the part. I kind of think they'll go for a big name though. Man of Steel wasn't a huge hit, and Affleck is no guarantee of bringing in any more money. The concept of having Superman and Batman in the same movie is what will make it more money than MOS. I think Leonardo DiCaprio would make a great Lex, but he just played a villain in "Django Unchained" last year, and this would be sort of a repeat. Can't see him wanting to do sequels either.
The only wrong choice they could make would be somebody like Sam Worthington or Gerard Butler. Meatheads that can't hide their accents. Friggin' Marvel has already used up so many actors that I'd like to see as Lex (Willem Dafoe, Nic Cage, Guy Pearce, Michael Fassbender). But I guess they used Affleck too, so anything is possible. |
