The X-Men: Days of Future Past Trailer is Here! - ComingSoon.net
They've officially released a trailer for it now. It pretty much conveys what we already knew. I've gotta say, I'm not impressed by it. "First Class" had a great look (and even with an uneven storyline, it's the best of the team movies), and "The Wolverine" was surprisingly great, but this just seems... I dunno, "off" somehow. There's something about Singer's X-Men movies that just makes you constantly aware that you're watching actors in costumes. I just don't have the suspension of disbelief that you need for these kind of films. It could just be a case of bad timing, with the trailer coming out so soon after the much better one for "Captain America: The Winter Soldier". |

I think the trailer did what it needed to do:
Say "hey, new X-Men film, with Wolverine, and both young AND old Prof X and Magneto!" and establish the time travel/transference aspect. But I think the film lacked a "punch", that one sequence to make you go "holy crap" or "that's pretty cool". I know most of the effects are still in post, but would it have hurt them for ONE shot of a looming Sentinel?

Yeah, I read the effects aren't done yet too. But if that's the case, wait until they are. This movie comes out one month after Captain America 2, and they delivered a good trailer. Movies like "John Carter" and "Green Lantern" got sunk by bad teaser trailers. (I know, they weren't the best movies either, but they didn't deserve all the hate they got)
POTENTIAL SPOILER! MAYBE...BUT NOT REALLY! Was some of the Professor's speach from the end scene of The Wolverine? It sounded familiar. This trailer was a bit Professor X heavy. Anything that features both Magneto's will be better I think, just because those two actors have the most to work with. Even though they/he are/is a supposed good guy in this one. We need to see the villains. They are the key to any super-hero movie. |

Yeah I wasn't impressed at all. I was suspecting Avengers style action scenes.

The second trailer is an improvement. I wish the rumors had been true that Halle Berry had been cut from the movie, but at least her part is small. I think Michael Fassbender has eclipsed Hugh Jackman as the best thing about the movie. I'd rather see a solo Magneto movie with him now rather than another Wolverine solo film. Hopefully they actually have a fight or at least some solid screen time together in this one.
Is it just me or does Ian McKellen look like a guy in an Ian McKellen mask in this? |

Love both the actors, but they're definitely not looking their best. I will say this though: If you look at the SDCC photos out there that have McKellen and Fassbender and McAvoy and Stewart together, it's pretty remarkable how much the respective actors look like they really could be younger/older versions of each other. |

Movie looks awesome, but I enjoyed the X-Men franchise MUCH more than the Spiderman & Batman franchises.
As far as Ian and Patrick go, theyre both old as fuck and aging fast. Ian MUCH more so than Patrick. He does NOT look good. Looks like his face is about to slide off. |
