Hey, Just wanted to start a thread on the WWZ movie. I saw it last night, and I liked it, although it kind of felt like that stupid M. Night Shamalon movie with Markie Mark and the plants spreading suicide pheremones. This movie was done a lot better than that one.
I have one question for those that may have read the book? SPOILER ALERT BELOW What was the deadly disease Gerry injected himself with to create the camoflague? Thanks.

BTW, the book and movie are not anything remotely alike.

What was the pathogen though that caused the meningitis? Was it viral or bacterial? If they were able to use a vaccine, then it had to be viral. Is there any mention in the book? Just asking.

^ Maybe they will get to the geopolitical ramifications of a zombie war in the sequel.
But I liked it... I thought the ending was cool with... Brad Pitt just casually walking out carrying the goods... kinda reminded me of the ending of Ocean's Eleven. LOL. I think I read somewhere that they totally changed the end half of the movie... I mean everything after they left Israel was changed from the original cut because it sucked... or something like that.

I liked the movie. It had an odd structure given that it started off big, with scenes that you'd normally see at the end of a movie, then finished small. I like Pitt in a lot of his movies, but I kind of think this might have been better with more of a character actor instead. Or Liam Neeson. Because Liam Neeson vs Zombies just sounds awesome. Then that could have just been the title and nobody would have cared about the differences from the book.

I watched it last night. I heard a lot of bad reviews. I heard like always the book is better than the movie. But I really enjoyed it and look forward to a sequel. The Zombie threat felt greater in WWZ than I am Legend

Just got back and I enjoyed it. I never read the book but listened to a little of the audiobook. The structure of the novel was going to be difficult to translate to the screen for a summer blockbuster. I think it works the way it was written. You got the scale of the outbreak as well as the intimacy of a good horror movie. There were moments when I think they could have pushed the envelop and gone more graphic but then it would have brought them to a R rating which it appears the studio was trying hard to avoid.
