As I've said in another post, I'm moreso one who likes classical monster films. And some of the Hammer ones are great. I still want to see "Vampire Circus", as the guy who played Ethan on "Buffy" is one of the vamps. (And he was pretty good looking when he was young!) OF course, that IS the reason I like the Sommersverse. Lots of people dismiss them as loud action films, but there's a lot of history and folklore he puts in them. Which is why I was boycotting the third "Mummy". Because those guys they got didn't do that at ALL. (I'm comfortable with them doing "Robotech", but when it comes to something that is based in history...NO.)
Modern slashers...take it or leave it. I hated the new "Friday the 13th", but I really liked "My Bloody Valentine 3D" as well as the original.

I grew up on horror flicks, I think i've seen everything out there worth seeing.
Nowadays, I'm not too opposed to remakes, although I didn't like the new friday, something about it just didn't feel like a friday film. My bloody valentine was absolute garbage. if it wasn't for the 3D gimmick, i would've wanted my money back. the plot and "suspense" was about as deep as an 30 year old episode of scooby doo. it's a shame to wreck a classic. I grew up loving Zombie filicks, But i think they've been overdone, and nothing good has come out. Even Romero has lost his touch. I just saw Let the Right one in, and as far as vamp movies go, it's one of the better ones i've seen in a long time. and we've got Dead Snow qued up for the weekend. Nazi's and zombies....how can you go wrong? as for some favorites: Session 9, Jacobs ladder, in the mouth of madness, are pretty high on my list. oh, and just for fun, from a few years ago:

I love zombie films. However there are very few good ones out there. Looking forward to see how "world war z" turns out to be when it is released.
