So, I am not a Die Hard Robocop fan, but really enjoyed the original 1980s movie. Still Love the theme song. Will always love the Robocop suit.
I just heard today that Hugh Laurie and Sam L. Jackson are in it. Double bonus. But I am hoping that FlopWood (Hollywood) will Not screw to much with this movie. What do any of you Robocop fans think. Will they change the theme song? Will they totally re-design the suit? I am keeping my fingers crossed that the keep the theme song and keep a majority of Robocop suit intact. I can understand a tweak here and there, but it's got to stay as close to the 80's suit as possibe. I look at it like this, the theme song and iconic suit is what people remember RC for. If you can't keep those two small things in the re-boot movie then call it something else. It's not Robocop any other way. Take the A-Team movie. I loved this movie. Lets say FlopWood decided to have them drive around in a blue Toyota pickup truck, had a different theme song and no Hannibal, BA, Face or Murdock. You could't call it the A-Team then. Same principal with Robocop. |

Joel Kinnerman supposedly is playing robocop and seeing as though he's the only one that's tall enough and skinny enough to be in the suit, I don't see them changing it too much. That's the only reason the signed him.

I think I'm the only person in the universe who liked Robocop 3. LOL. I bet they make the reboot more like Iron Man instead of 80's Robocop though... meaning I bet they make him all agile and stuff and not like how slow and deliberate he was in the old films.

I love all the Robocop films, had a ton of his toys up until the joe-sized ones came out because I could never find a decent version at KB Toys. The original was the best though, when I first saw the Auto-9(sill the coolest movie created gun next to the arsenal in ALIENS) and his f-ing awesome leg holster that movie was watched between PREDATOR and Commando on BETA, hahaha. Also if that holster isn't in this movie and/or they change the look of his Helmet this movie can go straight to hell. |

As long as Paul Verhoeven stays the hell away I'm up for it. He should never ever do any kind of sci-fi movie.

Yup, the automatic pistol really was the coolest thing ever at the time... probably even cooler than Robocop himself. LOL.

The original Robocop, Total Recall and Starship Troopers. I thought he did a pretty good job on those movies.

I think he's way over-rated as a director. I see him more in the genre of campy cult classics and not a person to be taken seriously. He takes really good stories and basically turns them into comedies and not a sci-fi action movie.
