Bay now wants to ruin the Halloween franchise more than Zombie ever could lol

I don't know... His remake of THE TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE was rather accomplished, I thought. Not replacing the original of course (how could it?), but a good 'modern' take on it.

From the linked article:
For those who haven’t been keeping track: Platinum Dunes was also responsible for the remakes/reboots of Friday the 13th, Nightmare on Elm Street, Amityville Horror, Texas Chainsaw Masscre, and The Hitcher – all of which have premiered in theaters over the past ten years to decent financial returns ( and generally weak critical reception). And I'll admit it, I liked Rob Zombie's Halloween. The first one, I haven't seen his sequel. |

My question is why is Platinum Dunes stalling on those F13 and ANOES sequels?
And I don't see Bay can mishandle Halloween any badly than Rob Zombie has, I hated Halloween II because it was just an all around shitty film full of malicious gratuitous violence that maybe Zombie had a messed up childhood. |

Dunes remakes of TCM and Nightmare on Elm Street were good IMO.friday the 13th was ok but Amityville was total shite.
I would still trust them more with Halloween than Zombie.RZs Halloween was utter crap. |

I thought they did a good job with "Friday the 13th" and "Texas Chainsaw Massacre" as well.
I don't think that they can screw up "Halloween" as much as Zombie did, I mean honestly, that would have to be your #1 priority for the film to accomplish that. Any "Halloween" remake would be less than decent in my opinion, because for me there is only one badass Dr. Loomis, and I don't think anyone will be able to fill those shoes or coat. |

TCM...ANOES...and F13 remakes all blew.
Halloween gets partial credit as there are a few bits that were actually brilliant but there was so much of those films that was terrible that it outweighed anything good. I was hoping that the team of Farmer and Lussier would take over. Their work on My Bloody Valentine 3D and Drive Angry was awesome, and while people will crap on Farmer for Jason X its been stated for awhile that too many chefs spoiled the food in that mess. Also Farmers Messengers was pretty decent...so I was hoping they would get that job. |
