Funny enough: The guy that would have played Batman has gone on to get an Oscar nomination and is considered an "up and comer" in Hollywood right now. Even funnier: The guy who was going to play Superman? None other than DJ Cotrona...soon to be gracing screens as Flint in G.I. Joe: Retaliation. |

DC is at it's best on the small screen with it's animated efforts. Justice League and JLU were a great way to promote all the characters with equal screen time over the long run. And I think that's where they should continue to focus their efforts. Apparently, Marvel thought so too as Earth Mightiest Heroes tired so hard to copy the Justice League format down to the overly broad square shoulders.
The Avengers Movie is going to have a hard time juggling that many character and actor personalities even after the individual origin movies for the big four. Besides, with Superman on partrol, they rest of the Justice League doesn't really even need to do much of anything but hang back and eat Cheetos. |

The cast wasn't really that bad. Skewed a little on the young side, but aside from that there wasn't that much of a problem. They were mostly unknowns so it's kind of hard to say for sure that it would have been terrible.

Agreed. I hate John Stewart as GL. To me it's Hal Jordan for the JLA.

At the time the JLA movie was being developed, JLU was still much more fresh in peoples' minds, so Stewart as GL made a lot of sense.
Personally, I think Hal "Boredan" is one of the most bland characters in comics. Give me Kyle Rayner anyday, or John Stewart, who at least has genuine pathos, or even Guy Gardner who at least manages to be entertaining. |
