That movie had potential. Indy was portrayed the right way (As Harrison Ford could only do). But the supporting cast was not that great. The acting was bad, digging Marion Ravenwood out of the ground was bad, the whole MUTT thing was way too predictable. But I could have lived with it all if it weren't for the JAR JAR FACTOR. Yes, George Lucas JAR JAR'd that movie right to hell. I'm so done with Lucas. Now I have to go and watch him butcher the Clone Wars in the movie theatre.

Ugh...

The whole "alien's built the pyramids" thing has been done to death so often that at this point it's horribly cliche. Also, that skull bore no resemblance to any of the ones reallly found. Lucas has definately jumped the shark (or nuked the fridge, depending who you ask).

dude its indiana jones. The whole series has a suspension of disbelief. Nazis looking for ancient christian relics to take over the world? A cult whos leader can rip your heart out because you stole magical stripped rocks? pfft lol.

One of the magazines talked about that a little. Harrison Ford knows how to use the whip like a pro (someone said he was cracking it and all sorts of jazz) But in todays movie times it's not OK for a star to be messing around with a bullwhip (insurance issues) and Harrison was adamant about not using a CGI whip (imagine the fight w/Lucas on that one) And that's 'probably' why there was such little whip use

I sometimes get the feeling that people won't be happy with an Indy flick unless there's nazis and judeo-christian relics

I sometimes get the feeling that people won't be happy with any Lucas project unless they get to write, direct, produce, and star in it themselves. Everything else is just wrong.

I sometimes get the feeling that goes for almost everything, not just Lucas films

I didn't like the Indy film much either...but for argument's sake, do you think maybe they aren't losing their charm...but that you (or society) has outgrown that old charm?

They can't do the same old Indy type of thing because of the critics complaining about predictability and "same movie, different title" bullcrap. Keeping the things fresh is what keeps franchises going. This can sometimes be done succesfully (See ROCKY BALBOA) or unseccesfully (Rambo, SW Ep1, Indiana Jones)
