No Robin for Nolan's Batman - MoviesOnline In short....."Christopher Nolan has made it clear that the new "Batman" film franchise will not bring Robin into the mythology as long as he is directing, apparently having stated that Robin is in a crib somewhere still and the timeline isn't appropriate for him to enter the picture. To some this may come as a relief. But, there are many Robin fans out there who believe Robin, particularly Dick Grayson, who grows up to become Nightwing, plays a pivotal role in the Dark Knight's tale. Though the Boy Wonder was introduced as a means to draw younger comic readers to "Batman" in the 1940s, Robin has become much more than a cheap gimmick or a mere sidekick as some continue to believe he is." |

you didnt really think you could look smart by pointing that out. of course we know they are the same person. the point we were trying to make was that the supporting characters ex. joker, harvey, gordon, almost seemed to have more screen time then batman/bruce. I will will say that I personally was trying to make the point that batman/bruce was far overshadowed by the performances of the other actors, regardless of actual screentime. I will assume since I have read your other posts and you dont seem the type to make comments to flame others that your comment was just meant to be funny and in need of a smiley or something and that you really werent trying to insult or belittle anyone. Right? as for the robin/batgirl thing, I would be more then happy if they never showed up in the movies. when I said baiting I meant that he was kinda of rubbing it in to the fans who know who gordons duaghter is. and no, I dont actually expect batgirl, I am sorry it came out that way, I meant we were being set up to see things that way. I think a good comparison would be having doc connors in the spiderman movies.....they didnt go that route, but they put the character in as a tease Last edited by harkiri; 07-20-2008 at 05:36 PM.. |

Well Merriam Dictionary defines it simply as:
"A boy who is an enthusiastic devotee (as of comics or movies)” So again you are debating about how real "The Dark Knight" was on a toy site for almost a 24 hour time span? What part does not scream Fan boy? But, that’s cool. You are obviously good with words so you try and win an argument by picking the words apart..........LOL. The reason why you do that is because the point you were trying to make was silly. What was that point again? Oh, you thought the movie was not trying to be a super hero film or a comic book film! As for the rest of your post you have a PM about that but I think it might be a good idea to make this very public and very clear. If you want to pick a fight with somebody you are in the wrong place. The staff will not tolerate this at all. So in the future you may want to reconsider how you are posting. |

I'm here discussing the movie because, one, I enjoyed the movie, and two, I enjoy conversing with board members. which leads me to the Robin possibility. I hope they keep Robin out of it, he just doesn't seem necessary to this story, but I would like to see a Dick Grayson cameo. |

Joker to Batman
"I AM YOUR FATHER" Batman replies: "SO AM I" Technically he is right... because.. Joker created batman when he killed his parents... and then Batman created Joker when he hit him with the acid..... so therefore... they created each other the yin to the yang..... one can't exist with out the other :P Why do I feel the need to sing the "I am my own grandpa" song?

Why dont both of you just stop........you both have the last word.....just let it go......and THIS is (Yes I know) coming from me.
You both are not going to convince the other you are a fanboy or your not one.........just let it go.......but it only takes one of you to put it behind you and walk away without getting the last word in...... "Why So Serious"? Its a movie yes (According to Nolan "Real Worldish") but come on....... no one here or on this planet will ever be The/A Bat-Man.........so in all reality it is a really good Comic Book movie............just let it go...........Like Timmy from South Park said......"I mean guys....come on"......... Jeez talk about the movie....not who is a geek here....WE ALL ARE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Last edited by spacemonkeymafia; 07-20-2008 at 07:43 PM.. |
