Ugh they can keep it I watched the first one and my wife who is a HUGE Holmes fan fell asleep watching it.
It really just seemed to be long stretches of low mumbled dialog followed by an action scene and more long mumbled un-understandable dialogs. I thought the first was terrible and honestly won't even bother watching this one. In fact Holmes may be the second DVD to have the distinction of being exorcised from my collection of nearly 1000 DVDs....the first being the near laughless and unwatchable Paul Blart: Mall Cop. And I'm a pretty tolerant guy I have some BADDDDD flicks in my collection and still enjoy them more than Holmes. |

I think as a Holmes story it wasn't so good. As an action flick it worked OK though.

I liked it-- as a Holmesian, I'll readily say it had a total 'fanfic' vibe, and I did complain about the dressing gown being the wrong colour, nitpicky quibbles like that, but it was fun. I mean, if I can enjoy Young Sherlock Holmes, I can enjoy this.
Plus, it's worth owning the DVD for the restaurant scene-- not even the dialogue, but the fact that no other movie has conveyed sensory overload so well.
