I couldn't find any other threads about it, but I just watched the horror movie REC. Dammmnnnn. I thought it was friggin great!
Warnings though, its a Spanish movie, so your gonna have to watch it with subtitles, and it's a hand held camera movie, ala Blair Witch and Cloverfield. I had been hearing stuff about this, especially with the English remake of it coming out (called Quarantine, which is cool to say that I have a friend who is working with the guy who is playing one of the main roles in it /end shameless namedrop lol.) Anywho, the lead girl in it is absolutely cute as hell, and the movie is one of the first movies in years that made me jump like a mother. I highly recommend watching this one, but it's not really out here in the states yet, so you may have to google for it and watch it on your PC. (please don't like post any links in here with it, I imagine that would be against regulations) Again, I highly recommend it if you like creepy movies, can stand subtitled films, and can also stand the "Reality cam" hand held effect.

It is a pretty crazy movie. The remake will be coming out soon, called Quarintine, from the looks of the trailer, it looks to be an almost exact copy of REC. However, I cant express how damn cute the girl from REC is. I would marry her in a heartbeat, who cares if I cant speak Spanish, as long as we would understand the language of Love!

Even if they do it scene for scene, American remakes usually kill a film's atmosphere stone dead. I'm all for odd European horror, so may track this down.

Riiiight?! As opposed to the trend setting, witty, European remakes that raise the bar for film makers globally. I think maybe the fact that different cultures interpret situations and atmospheres in different ways is a reason why they change things to appeal to their general audience.

I'll try to get it from netflix. I like foreign movies - they're usually way better than american remakes.

Yes, I highly recommend you watch it (not the movie, but the blinking DVD player, which I have never found one that blinked 12:00. VCRs did that, but I cant recall seeing a DVD player do that.)

Here is a totally spoilerless trailer (it is filming the crowd reactions of the movie with nightvision, cool concept)
Heres the normal trailer (no subtitles, all spanish) Ok, here is an actual synopsis off the top of my head. !Spoiler Warnings! (i dont ruin anything, but it may be best to know nothing about this movie at all if your are unfamiliar with it) Local Barcelona T.V. crew (the host of the show and her cameraman) is doing a report called "While you were sleeping", and they are following a Firefighter team in the later hours of the night. While looking like a uneventful night, the fire department is called to investigate screams and possible injury to a tenant at an apartment complex. The T.V. crew ride with the firemen to investigate and things look tense when they realize there are police officers also at the complex. While being witnessed to a gruesome attack, the tv crew and everyone else is shocked to see that their building is now being quarentined, and being threatened to be shot if they dont stay away from the doors and windows. The police, firemen, other tenants, and tv crew try to figure out what is going and trying to figure out how to escape, while also trying to stay alive from the government outside, and whatever evil lurks inside. This movie is filmed entirely from the viewpoint of the camera, as if you are watching everything that it recorded during that night.
