So got back from the midnight showing premier here in NY.It was sold out and people applauded at the end.Well I was glad to see Indy again but he looks so old in this movie it's surprising he doesn't get a heart attack from the first opening sequence of the movie which was literally filled with a bang.It was great to see the original Ark do a cameo.Well basically this movie is a roller coaster ride no real plot just action filled and alot of running.Special effects were great but some of the magic from the original movies felt like was missing from this one.Kids will love this movie and the majority of the audience was probably in their early 20's some of them probaly weren't even born yet when the first one came out.So all in all I liked it,the thing with the whole aliens storyline was a little weird and didn't fit this movie right but Lucas and Speilberg love their aliens and this movie will do great for Memorial Day weekend and the summer until the Dark Knight opens of course.

Just got home from the 12:01 here in CA. Before going in my friends and I had a smoke outside (don't smoke kids!) and were jabbering away incoherently as I noticed I had smoked my last cig. This is important and you will know why later. It was a 400 seat theater and was about 3/4 full. Anyway the movie.
The ark, short and sweet, loved that. Biiiig explosion and clever escape, very cool. That was one of my favorite parts. Ray Winstone and John Hurt are wasted entirely in this film. Ok, who cares about Winstone but John Hurt! 1984! Mr Elephant man himself! Lame. Not his fault though (I'm looking at you steven and you over there hiding behind the dumpster, George). Cate was cool. Shia (the luckiest boy in the world) swinging with the monkeys, absurd and painful to see but at least there were monkeys. The rope snake. He uses a huge snake to pull himself (indy) out of the sand. This was also painful and absurd but had no monkeys. The alien parts I dug and enjoyed very much. The whole movie looked like sky captain. Now I happen to like that film but that look is not right for indy. I believe george and steven must have been high when they decided to go that way (don't do drugs kids). Its a film that a whole family will like and I think that was the goal here. Its sort of disneyish in that way. A lot of people are going to hate on this film and those same people will get the dvd when it comes out and hate on it some more. 7 out of 10 shias Cool star wars reference. Remember those smokes I ran out of? On the way out of the theater, laying on the floor of the lobby was a pack of smokes half full and it was the very same kind I smoke. What are the odds.

Just one more thing.Near the end of the movie in the collectors artifact room.Look real closely in the bottom left corner of the screen and you will see Captain America's shield
