Weapon Room
With all the extra accesories coming with the figures these days and no way to hold them all, I wanted a diorama to house a few of them.
Materials used are cardboard for the base and plastic sheets for the racks and shelfs. |

Diorama - Sewer Infiltration
I have this small Ikea cupboard where I store my dvd's and graphic novels. The top shelves where left empty and I decided to fill them with a few small diorama's.
One of these is a sewer setting. I put my Night Force team in it, as if they are infiltrating a Cobra base through a underground sewer network. The base of the diorama is foamboard. The big pipe ends are a cardboard roll on which ductape was rolled, the rest is made of tube, drinking straws and some bbq sticks. The sewer water is plastic foil glued on a painted underground and finished with some hot glue. |

Diorama - Ninja
I made another small diorama for my figures, this time something for the ninjas. I based it on some pictures of Japanese interior I googled. It's made of cardboard, wooden sticks and paper and then painted. You can't see it in these pics, but the paper I used for the 'window' is translucent and looks great when light shines behind it. I also made a display for 2 swords.
The writing on the wall is Japanese for Storm Shadow and Snake Eyes (at least according to Babelfish ) You can also see my 2 custom Storm Shadows. It's basicaly just a parts-swap between the Firefly comic-pack SS and Greatest Battles SS. Namely the lower arms, legs and gear. I also painted the arms from the GB one to match the other one's. I wanted to have a semi-DDP looking SS. The other I use as a training/meditating SS. I first planned on adding an Arashikage symbol to it, but this way I can also use it with a Wolverine or other figures. |

Diorama - GI JOE Control Center
Another diorama I made for displaying my joes.
Mostly made of cardboard for the structure. Got the idea and the basic graphics from Amaro's Joe base. I recolored and reworked them a little. The PC-monitors are made of cardboard with popsicle stands. The chair is thrown together from different bits and pieces. I also included a few details like the voltage box on the wall, cd's on Mainframe's desk, the crate in the corner and the blueprints for Trakker's "Thunderhawk" project. |

Diorama - Warehouse
Another little diorama I made to display my Joe's.
The back wall is a printed circuit board, where I took some pieces off, and glued some others on, and then repainted in gunmetal. Added some silver weathering, a few painted details and printed out the warning stripes and vents and glued them on. The floor and metal boxes are also computer generated and printed out. Lastly I made the 'high voltage' box out of cardboard, with UTP wires on the inside for Firefly to sabotage. |

Cobra Commander's throne
I've made a throne for the Commander to sit on and command his troops. The basic form was cut from foamcore and then covered with thick brown paper. Cut the Cobra symbol from the paper and glued it on the throne. Lastly added a wash of a darker brown paint and a gold paint (doesn't really show on the pictures, but in natural light it gives it a bit of a sparkly shine).
Put it in my Cobra background, which I have posted before, for the pics. |

Diorama - Cobra Commander's room
Here's one of my custom diorama's I use to display my 25th Joes.
It's some sort of Cobra throne room, without the throne :p The setup here is Destro selling some weapons to Cobra Commander, with Storm Shadow lurking in the back. It's mostly made of cardboard for the base and wall, gold foil, some small wooden beams and toothpicks. The wall is covered with aluminium foil weathered with different colors of paint. The floor, banner, painting, boxes and laptop are graphics I printed out. The floor and banners were made with graphics I found here on the Hisstank, which I altered to my needs. (I don't remember whose it were, but credit to them.) |
