True, but i always thought they were a little to expensive for what they did...I used to have legos, but sadly i don't know what happened to them. The Knights and Castles were always my favorites...

I was a big fan of the Space LEGOs from the late 70s and early 80s. Had a whole ton of those sets.

Those subs look cool! Reminds me of the Pod Racer set from SW I got years ago.

This thread reminds me: Why didn't the Joe BTR stuff sell better? I mean, Joes + Lego style building blocks = Awesome.
I love them. I use them all the time. I use the vehicles as Airborne capable vehicles. The Joes jump in to an area with the vehicles in pieces and put them together on the ground. Did anyone else really like the BTR stuff?

i wasn't as in to Joes at the time, but the transformers ones were RIDICULOUSLY bad. you had to take them apart and reassemble them to transform!!! (if people can make fully transformable Macross Valkeries out of legos there is no excuse for that, especially as simplistic as the transformations of that era {armada} were) i read lots of complaints about them not holding together nearly as well as legos or even MegaBlocks.

true, but i thought the build quality and designs were pretty terrible.

The sets from the nearly unreleased wave (Hiss tank, Patriot Grizzly, Joe HQ, etc) were all really good. They blend fairly well with the regular vehicles, and it was fun to think about the Joes being able to construct stuff in the field - like in that early issue where they build the snow vehicle. Certainly, they could have been improved, but considering it was a first try it wasn't bad. Besides, when the Joes first came out, they weren't perfect toys, but they had potential. Same with Legos. I think if BTR had stuck around, we would have seen some really great stuff.
