FLAK Cannon
The FLAK Cannon is another one that I have reproduced in LDD by viewing an old internet pic. The one I saw originally was black, iirc. Which FLAK Cannon looks best? The far left green one, or one of the dark green ones? The center dark green one has feet inspired by cappeca If you let me know which one would you want to build, I can finalize the share link Oops, I guess my APC update post kind of leaked my FLAK cannon :/ I wasn't going to post any pics of it until I had done a brickorder, but since I've had no input as per the color choices, I decided to try to put it together using pieces from my Kreo tub first. Check it out, and let me know what you think. Should I redo this in Lego Green, or Lego Dark Green? The feet are inspired by a build from fellow 'tanker cappeca, so thanks a lot! =) |

I wanted to take a step back for a minute to go over a couple things pertaining to ldd.
When I finish designing my build and want to make in real world, I will start by getting a parts list together. I use this list to enter the parts into a Wanted list on Bricklink. Some people may have difficulty figuring out how to get that list done. Here you can see where I've highlighted where to click at for printing the parts list. After that I open the list up. I have to open the print preview and resize the document down one tick, in order for the quantities column to fit on the page. I use an older program called Open Office, so this could be something exclusive to it; but I thought I would share my experiences with it just in case. I have a program on my pc called pdf24 (freeware) that will allow me to "print" a document directly to pdf. (It also can do faxes, but I've never needed that feature yet) After I get my pdf done, I usually buetooth it to my tablet so I can look on the tablet screen and use my pc to enter the parts on my bricklink wanted list. This helps from having to keep switching back and forth between windows on my pc while entering the pieces. I have been able to make most of my builds this way irl. I am sure there are easier ways of doing all this, but this has been working for me. Hope this might help anyone trying to figure this stuff out. ;) Enjoy! |

I made these from the digital copies: Mini Rattler -Mini Jets - A10 and Rattlers.lxf -Mini Jets - A10 and Rattlers - HTML Build Guide.pdf -Mini Jets - F15 Seekers - ALL.lxf -Mini Jets - F15 Seekers - HTML Build Guide.pdf combined into one zip file *EDIT: ^^^I've put both models together in one file, and added a bonus standard blue version of the Rattler! Logic had posted an awesome looking JUMP Launchpad that incorporates the same jetpack design I am using. I figured a bunch of us might be using the same as well, so I decided to try this little build in ldd.
My wip copy: Blast Off! Here's Logic's Launchpad.zip Last edited by stealthy slim; 05-18-2016 at 01:29 AM.. |

Hey gang! I've just recently been allocating most all my pc time towards another new project/build. Right now I am doing modifications to an online build.
I guess just like everything else in life, I seem to run in cycles with my building. Let me explain my process for a moment, if you would? -First, I will take time to design and publish parts lists for multiple builds. -After I have a few builds worth of parts lists together, I start then converting them to bricklink wanted lists. -The next step in the process becomes searching the multiple stores that have the specific parts I need. -After that, I order and then pay for said parts. -When they come in, I check them in and serparate the pieces per each individual build. -After all the pieces are together for an individual build, that creation gets put together. Yeah simple, right? ;) Currently I am still in the design/publish phase at this point, but since I totally SUCK at surprises: Anybody wanna take a guess what this is going to try to be? The busy warm months are upon us finally. Vacations and visitations will be helping to drain the wallet currently, so my brick addiction may have to be content with me mostly working on digital models for the time being.
So to that end: Here's my start of ranquet's Mauler As you can see, this is still very much a work in progress; but I figured it might be neat to show a little bit how this reverse-engineering-from-a-pic looks starting out. One of the problems with working like this is that without the actual model to check out, the inner workings could be very different from one another...and yet still possibly look and function the same. This is why when trying to copy these builds, I am forever asking for the original builder's help when possible. Just so that I can try to get it as close as possible to the source. |
