To be honest I skipped over wave 1 because I've seen Hasbro drop experiments fairly quickly so just a few figures didn't seem worth the effort. Plus it took a while to get used to the Kreo look after being used to the rather cute Lego look.
But the more I thought about the fun I had with the head and hand swaps I did on the Lego Toy Story Army Men figures the more I got the itch for military mini-figures. Gave a few wave 2 blind packs a chance and I really grew to like the Kreo figures. The amount of articulation for a mini-figure was really impressive. With so little after the movie it gave me something GI Joe to collect that I could afford. And as someone who love how much easier it was to customize in the screw back days it's really nice to have something GI Joe where you can mix and match parts without having to crack open figures and superglue them back together. |

It took me until October 30th to start my kreon buzz. The vehicles were less than supurb because of the one "pilot/driver" idea. Tho I had a great idea to give the Joe's the "coyote" the Battleship desert mine styker. A tan version and slightly modified of the Cobra Armored Assault rig.
Also, I did have to slightly modify the Tactical battle platform to give the helipad enough clearance and to put the jail on the platform. But I love the Yo Joe Cola.

"What brought you to Kre-o?"
My car... The designs are slick and it is ARAH and super custom ready. Also, all the main Kre-o lines are to scale so a Transformer is appropriate size and the GI Joes could fit inside passenger areas. The Battleship stuff is all cheap right now, as well, and a lot of the figs could be Joes or easily be customed into Joes.

I was into Legos as a kid, though they were eclipsed by GIJoe as I got older. But I was smart enough to never get rid of them. TRU ran enough sales on Joe Kre-O when it hit that I grabbed a few sets (mostly for Cobra Commander with that chrome head!). Then the building block bug bit in a big way! My kid loves to build the models by instructions, so it gives us more playtime together. I'm not determined to buy everything Hasbro puts out, but it's all so fun that I've gotten most everything already (incl. a few Transformers & Battleship sets).
Favorite Kreon: the BAT! They did such a good job on it. Favorite set: the HISS from the Dojo set - it's one of the few models that really mimics the original toy, even if not perfect ---Runner up is Geewunner's SHARC; he nailed that one! |

Liked Legos as a kid......and GIJoe of course...combine the two? Awesome!
I still haven't spotted the fighter jet/ASP or Dojo/HISS tank sets up here though.

I collected GI Joe as a kid but as an adult I've always been a Transformer fan and I never collected Lego when I was a kid either. I did get a coupon in the newspaper for a free Kre-o figure and got Sunstorm from the Preview wave. I liked him so much I went back a bought the rest of that wave. Then I discovered Kre-o Battleship. As a Navy veteran I've always liked ships but I don't really like models so the Battleship line was appealing to me because I was still getting that "building feeling" but I didn't have to mess with glue nor paint. After getting some of the Battleship stuff I got a few Lego ships and started building a fleet. Then GI Joe Kre-o came out. I started out just buying the stuff that would fit with my Battleship stuff and then a hell broke loose and I just started buying everything Kre-o. I went back a bought everything from Transformers, Battleship and GI Joe. Then Kre-o Star Trek came out and I really didn't have a choice in the matter any more. I was hooked and I knew it. So now, in less then two years, I'm more interested in seeing what new Kre-o set will be released this year then I am in what new figures will be released this year.
