I agree with you. Honestly, for some vehicles like the FANG, and HISS Tank, what Hasbro is putting out looks adequate. However for larger vehicles, I don't mind buying more than 1 set to make an even better vehicle. Case in point, the G.I. Joe Kre-O Dragonfly, it doesn't have to be too much bigger, but I might buy 2 to make 1 AH-1Z Viper-based Dragonfly.
Have you guys seen some of the custom creations Lego fans make? They are incredible. I am really considering getting into this sort of thing, now that GI Joe minifigs are available. It's a bit daunting, certainly (especially for a perfectionist like me), but exciting too. I mean, there's not a whole of of GI Joe stuff out there anymore - and I'm fine with that, since we have nearly everything we could want from the various 25th and vintage-style lines. This is getting me excited about GI Joe again. Quote:
Even with Hasbro's Kre-O Battleship sets, I have thought of buying 2 sets to make a larger vehicle.

that Battleship set, is it only the hull or is part of the superstructure built into the hull ? Also speaking of being lazy and useing battleship hulls for Aircraft carriers..the US Navy did it in the 30s (well with cruiser hulls) and the 1950s with unfinished battleships that were started during the war. So if the main deck of the battleship hull is flat would it be possible for them to just build it up enough to make a decent Flagg out of it ?
